Just wondering if anyone has any info about why Xero was never signed. IS it because no one wanted them, or because Mike found Chester before they had the chance? If they couldn't get signed, I think it's because their songs had no point. It was great, but irrelevant, raps with a rock chorus. Mike raps like a mainstream rapper, talking about himself most of the time, and Mark sings a chorus that is more LP-like. Mike should've saved his awesome raps on here for Fort Minor, where it sounds like he cuts some of his skill for some reason.
i have no idea why Xero didnt make it... they were definately 'different' from other bands out at the time - who knows...
as i am highly impressed with Mikes efforts in Fort Minor (all-rounded) i still reluctantly admit that his lyrics dont match up to that in Xero..
I think he lowered his skill level to match up with the current rappers. His skill in Xero far surpasses many of the top rappers of today. I don't know why he wold want to do that, but FM would probably do alot better if he rapped like he did then. Listen to any Xero song or Esaul and then listen to Petrified
you're making your assumptions on the four, bad quality tracks you've heard. we haven't heard the unreleased tracks, and I think therefore we can't draw conclusions based just on these four songs...
You know why? Because their old vocalist sucked. I'm sorry. Put Chester with the Xero lyrics and it would've been a different story.
They didn't make it because their sound wasn't tight enough. Mike's lyrics with Xero are ridiculously juvenile and horrible in most cases.
Xero was good, but they moved on to Hybrid Theory which was better, and then eventually to Linkin Park. Basically, they did make it.
k did u ever hear mike on xero? he sounds like a teenager! and he wasnt as strong of lyricists as he is now...and fort minor was his album and his story lp is a different story also
hmm i dunno.. he sounds young but the lyrics he spit are way more mature than most of the stuff he's pulling out lately.. he rhymed WAY better in Xero then he did in FM and LP (after HT)
Mike's lyrics for Xero are: a.) way less mature than ALL of the stuff he's done lately b.) rhymed WAY WORSE than his work for FM and LP
interesting 2 say da least Mike is sounding much more mature now but im afraid i disagree with you and rhyming, it was better back then because it was faster, wittier. But yeah, his lyrics sounded like a dalenquints, however, i really like mark weighfield or watever. his choruses were ska-electronica even though the quality was crapy static interference
That's easy--because Chester had not joined the band yet. They needed his talent combined with the rest of Lp. Btw Wasn't Mark Wakefield more like one of Mike's friends that would fill the tracks, then a full time vocalist?
Xero was the name of the band before they were called Linkin Park and Hybrid Theory and before Chester was in the band. You were probably thinking of Super Xero which was indeed a demo of By Myself.
