But about this quote:

Honestly, I'm talking about a little bit of both. They need to mature and evolve. That's definitely without a doubt. But I also feel like they don't try hard enough to mature and evolve and they just play the same old thing all the time without thinking about how it sounds. Or something like that.

 

I see what you're saying. I think the effort's there on making the music but it's not in the evolving/maturing of the band's music. Which I believe is the focus this time around (judging by Mike's statements of an organic sound and how they went into the studio to almost force something out).

I still listen to their music once in a while but not so often, partly because I've moved on to better things and partly because they're taking so god damn long to release their next album. I can still respect them for what they have done for me in the past, though.

And I'll probably get mauled for this, but listening to Hybrid Theory you'll see that Brad isn't really as bad a guitarist as some people here like to think.
