Very lame indeed...but I renewed anyway. I only renewed for the meet and greets for whenever they tour again.

I posted on the LPU that I wasn't renewing, but I may just renew anyway because I'd still get the merchandise, even if it sucks it adds to the collection. Plus there's the referral contest, which gives me an outside chance at winning a HTEP, so yeah...

They just keep getting more and more "screamo" with the design concepts. It's cool for the trend jumping scenester kids trying to keep up, but come on.

I gotta agree with you there. These new designs look quite a lot like emo/punk designs...if that makes any sense. I'm not having a go at anyone, but I dont believe LP should have that style. Whatever happened to the original stuff, like the HT soldier. I'm not saying they should have the soldier, but something original like that would be nice.

I've been in the LPU since Day 1. I won't be renewing, as I doubt LP will be able to push out an album in the next year (if they do, it'll be an album they rushed, which will not be nearly as good as HT or Meteora), which also means they most likely won't be touring. Add in that this is the weakest LPU package they've had yet, and there go all my incentives for joining.

It isn't really a great package this year & I don't really like the Linkin Park font at all.

Actually, the album wouldn't be rushed at all. They entered the studio to record Meteora in September of 2002, album came out in March 2003. 6 months. Mike has already confirmed in an interview that Linkin Park has some demos recorded already:

He also says that Fort Minor is working on a US tour for January. Let's assume that they finish that up by early February. That gives LP over 10 months to put out an album in 2006, and judging from how they have demos done already, the writing and demo phase is already pretty far along. They could be in the studio by March and have an album out by this time next year.

Why I'm not in the LPU

Thecds are crap, and so is the community now. They keep selling us CDs with material that's widely available on the internet or stuff that we already have (LPU 3)

I have never been in LPU but I think that I'm going to give it a shot this year (read:2006). Maybe I should make it a wish for christmas.
