if warner bros. would of let linkin park realse "hybrid theory" under the band name of "hybrid theory", what do u think the album's name would of been? im thinking a self titled.... like it is now....
I think it would've been self-titled, since the HTEP was self-titled too. By the way, it wasnt WB who made LP change their name, it was another band that already had the name Hybrid Theory.
wasnt it another band that had the name xero? which made the change to hybrid theory? and i read somewhere that they wernt signed because of their band name (hybrid theory) so which further more they changed to lincoln park... but had to change the spelling to linkin park because the domain name to lincolnpark.com was already take and they couldnt afford to buy it off the owner. i think linkin reads better for a metal band than lincoln :whistle:
Yeah, they changed the name from Lincoln to Linkin because the website's domain was taken, but it's way better as Linkin anyway. And they weren't forced to change from Hybrid Theory, they did because they didn't want to create hassle's and problems, so they just changed the band's name. Back on topic, I think Hybrid Theory would have been Self Titled, like many bands do for their first album.
I think they would have brought out a single first like. "Points of authority" or "cure for the ich" and then name it after the highest selling or most popular song like. HYBRID THEORY cure for the itch or HYBRID THEORY one step closer maybe?
