In Flames will be touring with Trivium and DevilDriver across North America in late January. No dates or venues have been announced as of yet. In related news, In Flames' new album Come Clarity will see a release through Ferret on February 7th.
Sweet. I hope they come to Winnipeg, so I can say I've seen Devildriver twice in 2-3 months. Devildriver and GWAR are currently touring, and they hit Winnipeg tomorrow. And I'm really jealous of Vancouver and Toronto, because Trivium and Children of Bodom are touring together and.....yeah.
Why do all of the good bands (i.e. DevilDriver and Trivium) tour with all the mediocre bands that just make a lot of noise (i.e. GWAR and Children of Bodom)? I stand baffled.
In some ways, it's the opposite. Trivium just make a bunch of random instruments thrown together "music" and Children of Bodom own you.
Usually when a band takes another band as an opener, they're fans of their work. Or at least its that way from all the Mars Volta and Nine Inch Nails interviews I've read.

... ... That's great. You're funny.
hahahahaha no. What's so good about Trivium? Tell me.
hahahahaha no. What's so good about Trivium? Tell me.
Calm down, I was razzing you. I've got both GWAR and COB on my hard drive. I don't listen to them too much though. I think they have awesome-sounding guitars, personally. The drumming is utterly ridiculous, too. But that's just me. And to each his own.

I thought Ascendancy was okay, but it seems that 30% of LPA is hailing it as the second coming of Jesus.
I wouldn't go that far but I would say that it's my favorite album of the year. Also they have ridiculous solos.
Trivium is nothing special, there's a couple of instances where they have riffs and beats that mimic that of other metal bands. Yes, they can play instruments, but they're not very creative in doing so.
You both should die a horrible death
Trivium's just a generic metal band. And they're fairly new, so they copied others. ...although generic metal bands still sound good.
Ascendancy is a great album. On it all four members show a lot of skill and, with all of the members being under 25, they can only get better in the creativity stakes. They've even said that the next album will have a Dream Theater influence. Anyway, how many metal bands are original these days? Pretty much all of them copy Metallica or InFlames/any other Scandinavian band you care to mention.
