So far, I like the lyrics from the mixtape a lot more, but the beats don't fit in as well. My guess is that I'll like TRT more. Even though Mike's lyrics on the single are kind of watered down, I still really like all 3 singles. On 'There They Go' from the mixtape (which is also on the Special DVD version of TRT), Mike's lyrics and flow are way better than the singles. That makes me guess that he deliberately watered-down the singles to make them more catchy.
Exactly what I was thinking. We've only heard like what, 3 songs from the album? It's an unfair comparison at the moment.
Based on what I've heard, we can't make a comparison. We have 19 songs from We Major and 3 from The Rising Tied. I can't say which is better cause, well, the comparison is unfair. But here's what I think so far. The songs on the mixtape are excellent. The remixes of RTN and Petrified are crap. The lyrics are excellent. The Rising Tied, excellent music, but the lyrics are a bit weak. But we need all of The Rising Tied to make such a comparison.
Mike's vocals are generally a lot better on the mixtape compared to what's been released from TRT, but yeah, the rest of the album will probably make up for it.
I've liked Mike's lyrics from the mix-tape more, but the music from the songs that we've heard from The Rising Tied is much better. And created by Mike from scratch and not samples.
2 songs from TRT (believe me and petrified) OWN the mixtape, but remember the name is pretty crap. I like TRT better though
