well im sold.. im about to order one tomorrow.. but before i do ive been looking around alot of sites trying to find the pros and cons of the new ipod (more cons than pros because i like to be talked out of denting my wallet) so the only cons i have is that the battery life sucks with video and that the video part doesnt meet the hype... that doesnt bother me considering i only want it to store all my music and scroll through pics of my girlfriend whil im traveling hehe anyways! i have a few questions i hope any of you with the new ipods can answer 1. how good is the sound quality? (i read from someone that it isnt so great) 2. does the ipod flow from one track to another easily.. or are there gaps/pauses? 3. Do we have to use iTunes? is MusicMatch still possible? :wth: 4. Does it scratch easily.. like people say with the nano? 5. err whats screen lock do? 6. Can you play music while its charging, like, can i just plug it into the wall/pc and listen to it without worrying about the battery? thanks
1. Anyone who says it sucks, has a hearing problem. It's practically the closest thing you get to actual CD quality. 2. No, there are very small gaps between songs. Like one second. 3. Yes to iTunes, no to MusicMatch (why would you want to use MusicMatch anyways?). 4. If you are dumb and put stuff in your pockets, drop it, place stuff on top of it or try to use it to kill somebody. 5. It locks the screen so people can not access your iPod so they can view notes, pictures, calander dates, etc. If you forget your code, when you plug the iPod to the computer i automatically disables the screen lock. 6. Yes. ---- There's only one real kick in the pants with these new iPods: No charger for wall and they are not Firewire compatable.
I just got my new iPod today. I'm loving it. I hate that you can't use firewire...but with USB 2.0...it's just as fast. I have nearly 3,000 songs and it didn't take that long to get em' on my iPod. The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't come with the wall charger. So that's just an extra 30 bucks i'll have to spend.
yeah...you can open .avi's in iTunes, you just can't put them on your iPod. they have to be in their own little format. anywho, here's some pics of my ipod: http://www.xanga.com/Figure_09
The difference between either port on either OS is negligible. Unless you're going to be transferring a metric shitton of data, you'll never notice a difference. In other Apple news, the iTunes Music Store is now open in Australia.
