It was nice to see Coffey skating around before the game and shooting at the net. Too bad the Oilers lost.
You know, I keep trying to keep this thread on topic, but some people just don't know when to drop it. Point taken, Ant. Now get over it. I've consistently tried to end this. It's just a waste of my time, and it's pushing this thread off-topic constantly. I'm removing all the stupid bickering in this thread because if I don't, you're just going to continue prolonging an argument that's just unnecessary and going in circles. Any other gripes can be shown to my inbox.
Yep Messiers will be next year, count on that. The oilers will slowly run out of numbers before they know it. It was cool seeing him skate around the ice but only one thought comes to my mind and that all these older players are getting injured and i would have laughed my ass off if he wiped out or pulled a groin or something.

eugh..messier
Messier was the second best thing to happen to hockey and his numbers proove it. The only bad move he mad ein his career was playing for Vancouver. Either way "the Moose" was a great hockey played and one of my idols growing up. I'm gonna have to make sure I get tickets to that game.
Leafs win in overtime! Make that a 4-game winning streak! I listened to a stream over the net and flipped out when I heard Klee scored. Lindros has a four game goal-scoring streak. Tucker has a five game point streak. Steen had another goal. A beautiful tip-in. Did anyone see Tucker's goal? That was a rocket to the top corner! Man oh man, what a beauty. Buffalo and New York Islanders both turned absolutely beautiful tic-tac-toe passing plays tonight. And Zidlicky had an amazing penalty shot.
Yah Tuckers goal was sweet. Pissed me off when I heard Klee score in OT though. How about Staal in that game this guy is amazing hes gonna be a wicked player for years to come. Damn Oilers blew agian no surprise.
What the hell are you talking about. Maybe let the game happen and we can talk after the results are in. Fricken rights Ottawa is doing amazing. But I have Heatly in my hockey pool and tomorrows game is post-poned against florida because of the Hurricane. Damn Hurricanes really piss me off.
I've been following and playing hockey proabably longer then you been alive lol, and I write for 3 different hockey websites so I think I know whats going on in the hockey world. Plus me and Mark badmouth each others teams all the time since our heated rivalry started when the Leafs went from the Western Conference to Eastern. Used to be the Hasek Sabres now its the Leafs. Senators I really liked the Heatley deal cause not only did they get rid of a problem but the got back a star AS WELL as having the money now to sign Chara and Redden. But a 41 year old Hasek who had trouble with Detroit before he retired WILL slow down. BTW who is there backup? is it still Ray Emery?
I honestly doubt that you have been following and playing hockey longer than I have been alive. I am 20 years old and remeber when the oilers won their last cup in 1990. So that would mean I have been following hockey since I was 5, 4 if you count how old i was at the start of the season. And well playing hockey, every canadian plays it in some way shape or form.
You guys MIGHT have a chance of catching up with me tonight, as all my players are "off"... But tommorow it's over for ya'll .
Are any of you by chance in the Sportsnet hockey pool? I'm Roy_rules_33, and not doing too badly...I'm beating most of the Sportsnet guys at least! I'd have to say that I'm liking what I see from the new NHL. Lots of scoring, faster pace, overall more exciting I'd say. And most of the Canadian teams are doing really well, except for the one that had the most hype (Calgary)! I'm definately an Montreal and Ottawa fan so be prepared for me to be vocal against the Leafs

I got you beat to an extent, I've been skating since I was 4 meaning I started skating in 1987 when the Oilers beat the Flyers in 7 games which I have on tape. Started playing ice hockey at the age of 6 (1989). Went to my first game November 23rd 1991 in a 5-5 tie with the New Jersey Devils, in goal for Philly Ken Wregget in goal for Jersey Chris Terreri at the Spectrum. BTW, the two most exciting games I have ever watched in my life has got to be Game 6 of that 1987 Flyers/Oilers series as well as the Game 6 of the Flyers/Lightning series in 2004, that 5OT game in Pittsburgh in 2000 would be up there but my god it was just soooooooooo long.
Hmm well I guess I gotta give you more credit than I did before. When you star speaking like that to me it actualyl shows me you have alot of hockey knowledge and know the game. One of my favorite games of all time would be when the Oilers beat Dallas in game seven OT when Todd Marchant scored on Andy Moog. My next favorite series of all time would probably have to be the summit series when Canada faced USSR, now that was classic hockey. The Soviets played some dirty hockey when the games were in the USSR.
Dudes, there's no way you people are going to keep me out of the top spot for long. The wings are 10-1. They just beat the Blackhawks 5-2 and one goal was by Zetterberg, assisted by Holmstrom and Datsyuk, all of which are on my team in the pool.
That Oilers/Stars series was amazing that was back when basically if you had home ice advantage in the West it was a gimmie you were gonna win unlike the east throwing the Caps or Hurricanes in the finals. The Oilers simply just outplayed them. Another great series for them was 1998 when the Oilers beat the Avalanche in 7 games after being down 3-1 in the series, thats including a 2-0 game 6 win and a 4-0 game 7 win including the 3-1 game 5 win the Oilers allowed the Avs just one goal in the 3 comeback games. Avs weren't a pushover either just look at these names: Forsberg, Ozolinsh, Lemieux, Sakic, Kamensky, Deadmarsh, Yelle, Krupp, Roy, Corbet, Kurri, Klemm, Foote, Keith Jones, and Aaron Miller. Oilers: Weight, Guerin, de Vries, Kovalenko, Lowe, Marchant, Lindgren, Niinimaa, Hrkac, Buchberger, Zelepukin, Smyth, Grier, McAmmond, Hamrlik, Boris Mironov, Rem Murray and Cujo.
