Last week I finished reading a book on Teenage Suicide for a project I'm doing in TV class. They mentioned numerous different stories of kids who tried to commite suicide. They had a story about a girl who felt neglected from her parents. She felt like no matter how hard she tried she couldn't be what they wanted her to be. It was so sad. She was quoted on the book as saying "I've become so numb." This may be pointless but I thought this was pretty interesting because I started reading the book before I heard Numb. It's a pretty old book. But hey, who knows, maybe they did the song on her? I doubt it but hey, we can always wonder.
Thats kool.. Whats the book called? Have you heard "Maximum Linkin Park"? Theres a story on there about a kid who took a gun into skool, shot 2 of his class mates (If you would call them that) and injured 13 of them (I think).. "Linkin Park" got blamed for this because they were the guys favourite band..
I heard about that. Didn't read much on it, though. The book is at school so I'll post the author Monday if you like.
yea i heard about that boyy too..my mom told me about that....but she reallly doesnt mind that i listen to linkin park...but like my neighbor saw mee wearin a linkin park shirt the other day..and he got all mad...and started tellin me bout what happened but i dint care cuz linkin park doesnt say anythin in there lyrics that say "bring a gun to school and kill peoepl" if they did..then that is a different storry
It isn't fair that Linkin Park would get blamed for something like that happening. Older people who may have a hard time distingusing different kinds of music may just automatically lump all teenage music together as hate music or music that tells you to be angry and do something about it. Linkin Park is nothing like that. They make songs that have excellent lyrics that many people can relate to for many different reasons. I believe I saw that school incident on TV a few years back, or it may have been a different one where the boy shot up the school and at home he had left a note pinned to his speakers quoting One Step Closer lyrics. It isn't right that LP should be blamed for anything like that.
I hate it when people blame music for people's actions. music doesn't kill people, people kill people! Linkin Park is not trying to tell us to do all the things these people do. No band wants anyone to do anything like killing people. It's horrible to place the blame on something absurd as that.
It's got nothing to do with it.. Like Chester said in an interview after the incident: "It's like saying he shot up the skool because he had mayonaise that day.." It was kinda harsh.. But true
