For some odd reason, the speakers on my computer seem to have some static in the backround that is pissing me off. I checked if everything is pluged it well and everything is ok. Any advice?

This is the first time it happened. I've had these speakers for a good 4 years.

Check the wiring inside the speakers, something might be loose?

    Tried that. It's still there.

I'm going to bash my head against this wall if I don't get rid of this static.

Well, 4 years. It could be time to get new speakers.

But that's the last thing you want to do, obviously.

That's what I was thinking I should do.

My speakers pick up radio signals and it ticks me off. I always need my music up extremely loud to drown it out. I'm getting new speakers soon, fortunately.

What price range are you looking for. I got Harmon/Kardon HK-395 2.1 speakers very cheap with my dell. They're decent speakers but they cost 95 USD separate.

Well the only other thing is it could be a hardware conflict. If it isn't, yeah buy some new speakers.

    My first offer of help:

Clean the connectors with a soft cloth and check that there's no crap inside the plug

    My second:
Get a SoundBlaster Live! or another 5.1 surround sound card and a pair of Zalman 5.1 Surround Headphones. Yes that's right, headphones with all the speakers built in for the craziest gaming/listening experience. It's crazy, you'll really like it.

I'm sure it sounds great with the headphones, but some people would rather speakers. Which would you rather Paul; the headphones or the speakers.

    Wow that was weird.

After I got off work today, I came home and started blasting some music. The static is gone now.

    Hmmmm.
