I was wondering, does anyone else here take martial arts, or did? if so, please tell me where when, and what style. i am an B and B Tae Kwon Do, 1st Degree Black Belt. I have been practicing for over four years, and i have learned diffrent types of weapons, as well as forms and sparring ( fighting)
did traditional mantis kung fu for three years...and lion dance for two... quit because I had no more money left
ya, I've been in Kajukembo before. Got up to a blue belt, but quit because of high school sports (swimming and softball). We did escrima (stick fighting) and sparred. (Wasn't there already a topic about this a pretty long time ago?)
Dude, I can do martial arts so well. I can break my brother's leg with my finger! Psh. Yeah. Right. I don't do Martial Arts. I wanted to for a while. But meh, I never got to it.
yeah, i can understand. most people have very busy days, so its understandable that some people can't get itno it
I'm also in Tae Kwon Do. 2nd Degree, did a big stretch of Olympic tournaments and then 'retired' once I was out of age. Junior Nationals go up to age 17 by year, and next year I'm 18 SOO.... I don't know if I'm going into Senior Nationals circuit or not. I'm fine with working out and teaching.
Wow, that had like, no relevance to this topic. ...I doubt laziness in a martial arts thread is going to be celebrated, but that's just me. :wth:
iv'e had friends come and gone, so i've kinda learned not to get too attached to friends. personally, you shouldnt quit because of others. it shouldnt matter what everyone else does.
High red in Tae Kwon Do, next belt is probationary black belt. 4 years, plan to retire from sparring and join jujitsu and kung fu upon black belt.
I've been doing shotokan karate-do for about 8 or 9 years. Our teacher believes in old style karate and we don't do it as a sport but as an 'art'. We get our belts really slowly. Like you would go up mabye on belt a year tops. and once you get to brown, you might have to train for two years to get to black. i know people that do other forms of martial arts for like 2 years and get their black belt and think they're way better then me. It's really annoying.
Oh yeah. Forgot to mention that on the side I took some Muay Thai Kickboxing. Great for injuring squirmy little Tae Kwon Do fanatics.
