Sacrifices in the silence. There are these familiar phases of sudden silence, That grab me tight when I’m around you, An alerting emotion, a controversial sense, Forcing me to try to reach inside of you. A terror that never seems to cease to exist, An insecurity to be good enough for what we hold, A sting to jab the pain in my chest, within my wrist, Pushed back to withdrawal, a keen imitation to withhold. Test the greenery and the serene sights, And you’ll find them real enough to enjoy, The glimmer and reflections, your eyes and street lights, The tamed innocence and outward glee, you’re coy. Shattering quietness, bashful and whimsical love, It all reminds me now of what I own, I conquer the heat of hell and the peace above, But not any of it enough to describe the care I haven’t shown. Drowning myself in your arms, yet in reality, I’m away, Far from your touch to rejuvenate my being, I’m failing and fading into each second with you, every day, In the darkness and all the light, it’s you I’ve been seeing. Please accept a humble gift of my soul, I’m sacrificing my body and mind and notions for you, Derive the gleaming self of you in my empty hole, If I had the world, and twice of it, I’d still give it to you. comments please....
Great job freakolp, like always. I agree with tornrose, i think the first 4 and last 8 were the best lines of the poem. They were soft yet powerful, gentle but subtle. Great write. Keep it up.
