Yeah, I was so PO'ed when I heard Avril, Sum 41, and those other crappy bands were performing. They arent even metal. Ugh, just the thought of Avril Lavigne performing a Metallica song makes me so angry  . And Limp Bizkit is performing too, right? Fred Durst is a stupid dumb f***, who can care less about Metallica. They should have had some real heavy metal bands play. Oh well...

Finally, someone who feels my anger. I despise Avril, Sum41, Newfound Glory, Good Charlotte, and all those other bands. I don't care what anyone says, I think their music is obnoxious and horrible - nothing but catchy, bubble-gum music. People get so furious when I say Avril sucks because they say "she writes her own music and plays guitar." Big whoop, is that a new thing? Look at all these other great bands that have done this for decades. Ugh, I can't stand her voice and I also think she looks hideous and has no fashion-sense whatsoever. I'll admit she started some trends - but some bad ones, at that.

2 people that feel my anger, bitchin'. Anyways, I think it's such a fu*king travesty that Avril is perfroming (shes covering FUEL) and dont get me wrong here, I can handle Sum 41, NFG, ok Good Charlotte can fu*king choke too, but these days, everybody thinks that she and Eminem are freaking gods, and i'm just plain sick and tired of this bullsh*t. Plus Fred Durst can choke on my left nut and gargle on the right, although he did find some pretty cool bands (Staind, Puddle of Mudd, Cold) he is such a fu*king ########, he thinks "Oh, I'm the best in the world, everybody likes me!" well guess what, we don't, so go back in your little hole and jack off to your mother.

Sorry guys for venting, but I needed to get that off of my chest, now i'm going to listen to some heavy music.

I like limpbizkit. I don't, however, like Fred Durst's ego.

Ok after seeing it, I have to say...Avril should be banned from attempting to sing ANY kind of rock history can throw in her pale, wanna-be punk face.....I was so extremely disgusted that she ruined such a great song like Fuel. I couldnt watch it, I changed the channel and watched Spiderman til she was done.

In my opinion, Korn did REALLY good when they covered One. That was an amazing performance and the couldnt have done it better. Now granted, Johnny D couldve been a little louder, but hey, hes got the immortal voice, the voice that sets him apart from everyone (plus his mic stand rules). Staind's little cover they threw in was pretty good for acoustic....Snoop Dog...ok I wont even get into that masacre there......Metallica performing at the end was just crazy! I was jumpin around my room with my guitar just going balls to the wall insane, that was awesome....ok, there my two cents there.

Snoop Dogg? You have got to be kidding - that is outrageous. I still have another 50 minutes until it shows here in PST.

You guys make me laugh and sick at the same time. You guys don't even know that Avril was FORCED to make a pop-rock record by her label (just like Pink was forced to do R&B against her wishes). Her next record is gonna be hard rock because she has more freedom now, but of course..you guys call Avril a poser because it's "cool" its the "right" thing to do, how pathetic.

Avril did Fuel pretty well, granted she didnt do the "GIVE ME FUEL, GIVE ME FIRE" scream like Metallica did but she sung the song well and sounded sexy doing it. Even a Avril hater, who's name I wont mention thought she sounded good with hard rock behind her. But like I said you guys, call her sucky cuz it's cool. You want a real 'wanna-be'? Its you guys for fitting into the 'crowd' who thinks Avril is a poser. Your the real posers.

If you want a horrible performance? Look at ####### Snoop Dogg. He messed up on the lyrics, said too many "Come on ya'll"z and royally sucked in his brutal performance that seemed only like a ploy to promote his new album (listen closely to the end..u hear a quiet sample promoting his new CD). Now thats the epitome of suck.

But oh well, some people are ignorant.

The snoop dogg performance was a joke, yet somewhat funny. The Avril Lavigne one was horrible. What a disgrace to attempt to play a Metallica song, one of the greatest metal bands ever. The limp bizkit performance was okay, but korn and metallica themselves stole the show. Staind also did a great job

I hated Snoop Dogg's performance, absolutely loved Staind's, Korn's, and limpbizkit's and actually found Avril's to be pretty darn good. I still think her music is very boring in general. "Complicated" sounds like a country song and I like country (some), but this is so distasteful I can't stand it. How am I a poser for having my opinion, Derek? I respect yours, how come you can't respect mine's? Just asking.

I'm not a complete ignorant fool because I did just say Avril's performance was quite good. If these people are forced to sound this way by their labels, why even bother being someone you aren't? Once you start making your "own" sound, it's usually too late because you've already made your first impression and people will say you've changed for the worse - trying to sound like everyone else.

    I hate Avirl because:
Her lyrics are soooooo cheesy. i.e. "he was a skater boy, she said see you later boy"? That is not talent to me. I just can't stand her voice, honestly. It's not the kind of voice I'd enjoy listening to even if she did a Linkin Park cover. I just don't enjoy her music.

As much as I do not care for Sum 41, Avril Lavigne or limpbizkit, I have to say that their performances were outstanding. I wasn't expecting anything like what I heard. Sum 41 was awesome, and Avril took me by surprise. I'd never heard her cover of "Chop Suey!" by System Of A Down, but this cover of "Fuel" by Metallica was awesome. Like James said, it was cool to hear a female singing his lyrics. She did great. Snoop Dogg's performance made me laugh. Let's just leave it at that. Limpbizkit's performance was the best of the night—Aside from Metallica themselves of course. He got the crowd into the song and sounded like he was really enjoying himself on stage. Their performance was great. Staind's acoustic performance kind of threw me off because I didn't expect them to be performing when they didn't say "Staind" when they were announcing who was performing. Korn's performance was okay, I would've liked it if they would've played a much heavier song but it proves that not only can Korn do covers well, but they can play soft. Metallica's concert at the end was awesome. I love it when bands can seemlessly transition from the middle of one song to the next and not sound horrible. I enjoyed myself and Metallica made themselves a new fan, in me, last night.

As for everyone else who can't form a good opinion without being immature: Grow up.

Why don't you define a "good opinion"? Anyway, I forgot to mention Sum41's performance. I'll hand it to them as well - they rocked. I didn't watch Metallica's performance because I had to take a shower, but I'll catch a rerun. Why was Chester paired up with Travis? I hate Blink182.

haha, Neo. You hate all the "punk" bands I hate. Good job. Except Avril, I think she's pretty talented (i know because my sis plays the cd non-stop, quite catchy and more meaningful than the other pop crap).

I must hear the Korn cover, that must've been amazing. And if Avril, Sum 41 and limpbizkit did good jobs, I'll check those out.

IMO, the best cover was either Sum 41 or Staind. Limp Bizkit's wasnt that bad either.

A good opinion would be stating plainly why you do not like a certain artist. Most of the people who have replied in this thread cannot do that without being immature.

    I rest my case.

Thoughts about last nights MTV ICON:

Snoop Doog... where the f*** did he come from? MTV probably hired him to show up. That was such a joke.

DJ Lethal and Fred Durst ruined that LB metallica cover.

    Avril sucked.

Korn had the BEST performance out of all of them.

    Where was Dave Mustaine?

Chester should have had more lines and sung (?) a metallica song.

Metallicas new bassist Robert Trujillo RULEZ!

Frantic, Metallicas new song is good. :D
