While it has that Taproot feel, I can compare some parts of songs to other artists. It's a diverse album. -- Beginning guitar of "Birthday" reminds me of the start of The Killers' "Mr. Brightside". -- Beginning guitar (tempo) of "Promise" reminds me of the Foo Fighters. -- Beginning guitar of "So Eager" reminds me of Korn. The comparisons may seem abstract, but compare back to back.
dont attack me on this taproot fans but i think this album wasnt worth the purchase. the nu metal tendancies just didnt do it for me.
I'll never understand why people consider Taproot nu-metal. They don't have any of the nu-metal tendencies (the guitars, the vocals, the rapping, the lyrics, anything). I'd classify them as post-grunge, myself, or just plain 'ol rock.
Even though I've never heard any material by Taproot, I purchased this album today from Musiczone since everyone here was rating it so highly, and I have to say I'm quite impressed, it doesn't live up to the hype people seemed to give it, but it is non-the-less a great album. EDIT: After my first listen to the album, I'd say my favourite track would be She.
Never been a big fan of Taproot, but I got it the other day only gave it one listen so far, but it sounded good
I love this band, check them out. Nice blend of guitar and melodic singing. Not alot of screaming, but when they do scream, its good!
it's not bad, but nothing has grabbed me so far (i've listened to whole CD a few times while working on the computer. so if something grabs me while only being background music, you know it's pretty good) but honestly i like their older stuff a little better and i dont really know why right now, but if i can think of a distinct reason why, i'll say so ! -boojitsu
