Hey I just found on the internet that the new Taproot album has leaked and am currently downloading it. Just curiosu if anyone else has downloaded it and if so what their opinions are on the album. I will post my opinion once I have finished downloading and listen to it. Holly crap that was a fast download it finished in just over three minutes.
My opinion? It's amazing. Not a bad song on it, if you ask me. Perfectly produced, too. Just great performances.
It's so awesome! Much better than their older stuff. I was genuinely surprised about how great it was. My favorite songs would have to be "I Will Not Fall For You", "Facepeeler", "Calling", "She", "Forever Endeavor", and "Violent Seas". My least favorite song would probably "April Suits", but that's by no means a bad song. Very great album, I'll be buying it. Edit: Oh, and "Birthday", "Promise", and my new favorite: "Lost In The Woods".
It's not bad if you like Chevelle, or Strata. But comparing to their older stuff, it really isn't all that good. They said it was a mash of their previous two albums, but I only see it as the mellowest album they've put out. Welcome had some heavy stuff, but this release dosen't have as much heavy stuff. I'm not feeling it. Just like new Staind, garbage.
You didn't like "April Suits"? Bahumbug to you! My favorites: "Promise", "Calling", "Violent Seas", "Birthday", "Forever Endeavor", "April Suits", "Lost In The Woods"... heck, I love the whole album!
I've only listened to a minute or so of I Will Not Fall For You, and I can already tell this will be in my Top 5 of the Best Albums of 2005, atleast. I'll listen to the whole thing tomorrow. I'm going to bed now.
Blue Sky is pretty awesome so far. I still have alot of listening to do but other than facepeeler and calling, which are both great songs, she and birthday stand out. Both have great melody.
I'm never been a huge fan of Taproot, i've liked a few tracks but it's never been enough to make me check them out more. I'm into melodic / heavy / meaningfull music, so what I want to know is; Will i like this album & will it make me a fan?
Decent for the time being...although, i've only listened to the album once. I'll give a better opinion on it later.
This time around, Taproot lost the random time signature changes and all the crazy stuff they had on their previous albums. However you can still tell that it's definately Taproot. It's an amazing CD and if it doesn't make you a fan, nothing will. Did anyone other than me notice that Stephen Richards sounds like Jared Leto (I think he's the vocalist of 30STM) sometimes on Blue-Sky Research?
I think it's more destinctive now, personally. It isn't just mindless screaming like on "Gift" (not that it was bad), and it's far more melodic and rythmic than on "Welcome." He has a much better range now.
Yah this is definitely a sweet album. Violent Seas just captivates me, I don't know why. But I cant wait to get this on disc. Yah Raj I think this would totally make you a fan, if you can stand Nickelback, you'll love this.
Stephen pulls out song P5hng Me A*wy-esque vocals on the new album, it's not nasal like "Mine". By that, I don't necessarily mean the vocals sound like PMA*, but they're more melodic and defined now.

[/b][/quote] yeah he does sound like him, especially because at the beginning of the chorus to facepeeler, he says, "so I run" and in 30STM's Capricorn he starts the chorus off with the same line.
