This song was written after a long period of writer's block. It gave me the encouragement to keep on writing. It's not that great but I just found it clever as it makes references to many other songs i've written, that's what I like about it. Black Dawn The streetlamp lights the night time road, Should be dark but light still glows, And looking up the sky seems red, The price I pay for things unsaid, Chorus But you don't know it's black at dawn, And they can't see just why I mourn, And I’m not sure where I belong, But I’ll know once these thoughts have gone, And I open up the window, Cause I just wanna be cold, Through me I feel the wind blow, But i've got no one to hold, And you don't know it's black at dawn, And they wont see just why I mourn, And i'm not sure where I should be, But i'll know once these thoughts leave me, And nothing moves in the midnight sky, Nothing to glint in my lonely eye, The star's gone, seems I was wrong, You weren't the sun, the light has gone, And when the morning comes the sun will rise, But I still think you'll see pain in my eyes, Cause I know tomorrow’s another black dawn, And my only choice is to stand and mourn, But you wont know it's black at dawn, And they'll never see just why I mourn, And I don't know where I belong, But i'll know when these thoughts have gone,
