OK I was reading a magazine this week, I think it was BLENDER, and there was an article about the depletion of hard rock radio

(ex. I use to listen to this great radio 99.1 WHFS which played nothing but hard rock, they even had an annual HFStival which I saw the last one, and all of a sudden, it is replaced by spanish fiesta music, I was devastated)

anyway I read about it and they say the cause of the downfall was Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit with their rap-rock phenomenon. It talked about all the bands that contributed to this, and I am glad to say that Linkin Park was not found anywhere in this article. You'd think that with LP being the best at this genre they would be somewhat responsible, but they are nowhere in sight. I feel good to know that LP can triumph over this kind of sensation.

Because they did it like perfectly. Im not a big fan of Limp Bizkit. LP merges the two together to make great songs that are loved by old young, and by fans of rap and rock.

    But this is just me.

probably because LP is the only "Rock Rap" band who is repspected (at least for the most part) by the rap community. LP has pretty much proven that they really do like Hip Hop and are not just using it to sell records....if that were the case....they would have stopped Rapping after Reanimation.

There haven't been that many good rap-rock bands anyway. The Anthrax/Public Enemy and Aerosmith/Run DMC collaborations of the 80's were good, but they don't count. Rage Against The Machine were legends, Biohazard were strictly average and Faith No More only touched on the genre in a couple of songs after their original vocalist left. Who has there been since other than Linkin Park and Limpbizkit? Crazy Town and Kottonmouth Kings? OoO00oo0O0oOo0hhh.

Linkin Park is well respected in the Rap/Hip-Hop communtity, so people like Linkin Park more then the other ''Poser'' bands like Limp Bizkit. At least that's what I hear.

Oh yeah, I forgot those. P.O.D and Kid Rock don't seem to be doing anything at the moment (that I know of), and Papa Roach have started to move away from rap-rock. Limpbizkit's last album was disappointing to say the least, and it sunk without a trace anyway. I guess that leaves Linkin Park as the only modern 'luminaries' of the genre.

As everyone else seems to have said, Linkin Park is of course, not responsible for this downfall because they are respected by both the Rock community and Rap community. People know that the members of Linkin Park are actually into Rap in general and include it in their music because they really do admire the aspects of Rap. They don't use Rap as a selling technique.

Limp Bizkit is a different story. Although they get more crap than they deserve, they aren't the best band and obviously need to step it up a little. They are considered Posers, and seem to be doing nothing about it.

Says someone who shows zero appreciation for the band's rap-over-rock efforts, as seen from your sig. It's almost sickening.
