unique sounding bands

    seeing that the thread like this before died out i thought id bring it back

    breed 77

    if you havent heard these before they sound like no other band i have heard of, and the ultima hora is one of my favourite songs

    mixing rock and metal to make a unbelievable band

    biomechanical

    a rising metal band that are so unique

    36 crazyfists

    their song at the end of august just blows u away
    ________________________________________________________

    the offspring

    an excellent band, some songs sound like other bands songs but most do not
    ________________________________________________________

    slipknot

    the infamous slipknot, very unique and very very good

    The Dresden Dolls - punk cabaret, yo :)

    The Mars Volta - no description of mine could do justice.

    Refused - One of the few bands that manages to play hardcore without following the generic formula.



    edit: are we talking about the same Gorillaz here? I'm failing to see the "metal." And LP? Well whatever floats your boat, I guess :)

    I like a lot of the bands you said, but unique? I hardly think most of those bands are unique. Just my opinion, though.

    I hear a whole lot more hip-hop then metal there :)


    Regardless though, they are an excellent band.

    But I will agree, they are a unique sounding band.

    As are Mars Volta.

    Chronic Future is interesting. Some of their songs are Rock/Hip-hop, but then others are alternative. Plus, the lead singer's voice is wicked.

    Come on, they're at least more unique sounding than most other... 'nu-metal'... and not everyone here has gone off them yet.

    One band I forgot to mention in the other thread was the Notwist.....purdy good stuff.

    Nobody else stands out in my head at this moment.....

    Even though I like Kasabian, I'd say they sound a little too much like The Stone Roses to be unique.
