I just don't like how it sounds, personally. It sounds far too much like pop-punk (read: Good Charlotte-esque bands) to me. I'm sure I'm going to get slammed for saying that, but that's what it sounds like to me.

 

It's definately not pop, but it's not punk either. Whatever it is, it gets repetitve because the masses eat that shit up.

Although, anyone who has the balls to make a concept album is a-okay in my book. It takes great attention to detail to create a concept album, nevermind one that actually makes sense and is a good one.

Even if the music isn't that good. Needs more synth.

 

The Good Charlotte-esque bands sound like the Good Charlotte-esque bands. But Green Day? Their new album was nowhere near that, and personally, it sounds way too intelligent for pop-punk standards.

Yea, I completely agree. All those bands have at least ONE song on their album that is at a ridiculously fast tempo and use the same drum beats over and over. Green Day's album was at a moderate tempo the whole may through. And plus: Better lyrics, more instruments used, and way more creative. I like Pop Punk, but IMO this CD is nothing like it.

 

But we all agree that Billie wearing eye shadow is wrong, right?

Actually, looks like they started getting new stuff ready already.

Summer '06 isn't too bad, considering it won't even be two years when they release it, if they DO release it in the summer. But it most likely will get pushed back.

 

I hope the new album is "old school" Green Day.
