Marilyn Manson has come to a crossroads in his career where actual art is taking more of a precedence. "I no longer want to make art that other people -- particularly record companies -- are turning into a product," he says. "I just want to make art." To that end, Manson has apparently invented a new genre for his new breed of art: "horripilation." "It's horrifying, and it's depilatory," he explains. "It will horrify the hair off of your legs." First up is Fantasma Gloria, a set of four short films to be released through his Web site. "It's the visions of Lewis Caroll -- in fact I'm playing Carroll," he says. In Installment One, Manson explores the origin of Alice in Wonderland's Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. "I might add that the girls playing Tweedle Dee and Dum are twins who get to have real, genuine sex with each other. I like to make dreams come true." Manson has a set of 18 songs recorded, but is hesitant to release them anytime soon. "It's not like I'm going to stop making music and start knitting, [but] I just don't think the world is worth putting the music into right now. First we're gonna fix the world with horripilation."
I doubt it. I'm sure, or at least hope it'll be like his DVD "Doppelherz" that came with Golden Age of Grotesque. The soundtrack will probably support the visuals rather than be the backbone behind them in general as it was for R.Kelly's "Trapped in a Closet." Like in "Doppelherz," basically the entire thing had one track backing the visuals and that was the intro to Golden Age of Grotesque, so I'm sure that same idea will be worked here. Not sure, though, just speculation from things he's already done. I definitely can't wait, though. Even though many people probably didn't like his "Doppelherz" thing, I did, and hopefully it's more like that stuff... It's really interesting, IMO.
...If you post something that you want to be obvious sarcasm...try making it obvious. There was nothing insinuating you being sarcastic. Just a tip.
How would you have me do that, sir? Want me to put OMG SARCASM AHEAD, ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 12 PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY in front of it? I'll edit my post if you like.
Yeah, because it was so obvious before that anyone over the age of twelve could get it...oh wait, I'm 16 and I'm sure Kaeton is older than 12 too. Darn.
I must admit... my heart flip-flopped when I read over the Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum tidbit. *whistles*
