Lately I've found myself looking at a lot of Graffiti online, searching for it out on the street and such. I find Graffiti to be a very interesting art form. I've tried to do my own stuff a little bit, but it's generally stereotypical graffiti stuff. So, does anyone here at the LPA do graffiti themselves, or have an interest in it, or any other relationship with it?
I think that it looks amazing but I suck at it. On of my friends is into it and is pretty good. There's actually a big festival in Liverpool town today and there's something like 200 metres worth of graffiti walls which are being filled and some of the stuff on it is amazing. A graffiti artist called Banksy did this in Liverpool:
I do stencils if you didn't know. There's something about spraypaint that just stands out from everything else. It's messy.
i love the idea that people can express themselves in their own way, when its quick and easy to do. some graffiti looks ace - however some just looks scruffy. like when chavs write 'devvo' all over the place, however some of the more complex stuff is ace - iam a huge fan. infact for one of my units in my photography course i looked souly at the street image and graffiti was definatley an interesting path to look down.
i want to learn it, but right now, im trying to do some stencils. i DO know a friend who can do some wicked stuff, but havent hade any contact with him.
I used to hardcore graffitti on trains and back-alley walls. I got pretty good at it, but then I got lazy and kind of stopped. I don't have any pictures of what I've done though.
A likely story. Same here, i just have no proof and always cleaned it off after i was finished doing it. And now i can't be bothard and when i try to show people i miraculously loose all my skill. Joking. I truely find graffiti facinating art form. I think it should be more recognised.
im addicted to looking at graffiti art its an amazing art to be able to do it ive done stenciling and basic crap graffiti but im more of a pencil and paper person myself
I absolutely love graffiti, but I doubt i'd ever have the talent to do some good graffiti myself. I like to browse the DeviantART graffiti section I think graffiti should be more recognised as an art form.
I used to Graffiti in my garage but me moved house and our new one is all flashy and my folks wont let me work in there. I would re-interpret LP logos and stuff. Not very good but worked at calming me down
