I didn't know where else to put this so I decided to put it here:

Ok. I downloaded a music concert and I was wanting to do a still shot and make it as a wallpaper. The problem I am having is that when I save the image, all that's there is a black image. So basically can this be done? What I did was just play the video in Windows media player, paused it on the shot that I wanted, selected print screen, and copy and pasted it into Photoshop. I get it all set the way I want it saved and I save it, but when I try to view it, all that's there is a black screen. What am I doing wrong, or can this be done?

    Thanks a lot

In my video editing program (Pinnacle Studio), you can take snapshots of the video you're working on but I dunno if you can do this with the software that you have.

What format are you saving the picture in? Try using different programs to view the saved image and different formats to save it in. Can you see a thumbnail in Windows Explorer?

It would be helpful to know what software you are using, but if you wanted to do it extremely simply you could have the movie playing to take up you whole screen, pause it where you want and use print screen (print scrn, button to the right of backspace) and then copy it to paint/siilar program.

But if you want to do it proply using software, we need to know what you are using first.

Prt Scr-ning a video on it's own will not work.

You need a specific program that'll let you capture video stills. If you try to screenshot a video, you'll get a blank box that will contain nothing--this is because you've actually took a screenshot of nothing.

Search around the 'net, there are a few free ones you can get.

Or if we are to assume you already have a program... Find another, lol.

Try using "Media Player Classic", just do a google search on it. It's basically a player that supports playbacks of a wide range of video formats, it also lets your save still images of a video. So, enjoy.
