i think that pointless,or any other closed topics(threads) should be erased as soon as possible-it would be less confusing for the users, and anyway they are useless(topics, not users).

They stand as a reminder of "Don't do this again".

Yeah. The staff leaves closed topics to be viewed so that people learn not to do what caused disruption in the thread. Plus, the staff sometimes makes comments that are interesting. I like to see what goes on.

I think a better idea would be like a locked thread graveyard, like a separate forum where threads are moved to after they get locked.

That would be too much hassle & trouble IMO. I think the locked threads are okay in the forum they were created in, this way newbies can see them first hand, instead of going to a seperate forum to view what shouldn't be done.

Its only a problem in Linkin Park Chat where half the threads are locked.

There is a place where the staff can put closed topics. We just don't move them I guess for the purpose of a reminder of not doing something again, like Avenger said. If the forums get too cluttered with the closed topics, then of course we'll move them.

Most threads are kept there a little after they are closed so the offending member can see their warning, and know not to do it again. It's also intended as a reminder for other members, that if they follow a similar path of behavior that they will be likely to suffer the same consequences that their fellow peers received in posts prior.

Then the posts are usually moved to a trash forum, unless they were extremely offensive which leads to them being moved to TRASH immediately after they have been closed to the public.
