why wasnt high voltage released on meteora or hybrid theory because it was sucha good song i dont get it??
Basically, the band re-wrote High Voltage after the Hybrid Theory EP, and made it into the version on Frat Party, One Step Closer sing, etc., and they were going to put it on Hybrid Theory after Cure for the Itch (which is why you hear it in the beginning), but it didn't fit lyrically with the rest of Hybrid Theory, so they cut it. They liked it enough that they remixed it for Reanimation though. It's not on Meteora, well, because it was old material by the time Meteora was made.
In my opinion for this one, I think that they wanted all there ep songs to stay on that album. If you notice all the other songs off the ep aren't used. I was quite surprised when I picked up reanimation on june in the summer of 2002 to see that they actually remade high voltage. B)
That was actually the third version of High Voltage. The first was on the EP The second, also known as the 'reprise' was on Frat Party, and on the special edition and japanese editions of HT. The third was on reanimation. The second is my personal fav LP track... and I don't like the reanimation one at all.
same, mike's remix was a bit more "reanimative". there's more difference between that and the original version than there is between the first and second remix.
