Look guys (and gals for that matter) the whole point of this forum is to ask questions and give suggestions. Once you have done that, there's no need to tirade us about it. We take all serious suggestions into consideration, and complaining about things doesn't help your case.

And sometimes I think some people do take our willingness to listen for granted. Check out some other websites, see how active the staff is on their message boards. This is after all a fansite, and we all should have lives outside this website. So just chill, please :)

Just out of curiosity, when you get invision do you pay like, monthly or is it just a one off payment?
Hey, he asked...I'm just being the helpful one answering his question. *shrug*

Oh my god. Tomi. STOP it. Youre always doing the "You should do this." crap and everyone is getting sick of it. Let me make this perfectly clear. WE WILL DO THINGS HOW WE WANT TO. Stop being the little Invision posterboy, we dont care.
Hey, take it easy! It's alright. Nothing to fuss about.

But Tomi, please refrain yourself from ever-so-constant suggestions...it does get annoying. I'm just saying that Nate shouldn't lose his temper about it.

Well shit, why don't you just take me out back with the shotgun, tie me up, and put me out of my misery?

I never even told you to upgrade, all I was saying is that being a person who moderates a board running on 1.3, I knew there was an option for viewing warning levels in it. Maybe I'm just ignorant, or maybe I actually have a life, not sure which, but in either case, I don't pick apart this messageboard on a daily basis looking for people who complain that this site isn't on the latest version of Invision. I'm not complaining, I really don't give a fuck how outdated the messageboard is, as long as it lets me do what I came here to do: post my opinions. Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse by saying the board could be upgraded, but I haven't noticed anyone else complaining.

I quote this little snippet again for one simple reason: I know for a fact that I'm older than the majority of the staff members here, and I'm sure a lot of the other members are. Don't assume that if this site is run by 15 and 16 year old kids then all the people that flock to it will be 12 and 13. Don't call me a kid, kthx.

And as for paying money...I could easily chew you up and spit you out over that one, but I'd rather not get myself banned. I will say though, that I wonder just how hard it is for 10 staff members to pool together enough money to do what they want to a website. It can't be that hard, but I'm sure they'd rather just ask other people to give them money so they don't have to spend their own, and not listen to people's suggestions until they're willing to shell out cash to make them happen.

For the record, if my messageboard had the "annoying problem" of numerous people asking for an upgrade, gee, maybe I'd take that as a hint that it'd be a good idea to upgrade and keep the members happy! Cuz you know, it's all about the members. Or at least, in my eyes it is.

Where did that come from? When was any of this directed to you? Keaton was just saying all of that because it seems like the only way to get it into the heads of some people here. You personally have been a great help here and the staff really appreciates how much youve done for us, but then we get people who come in here and bitch about how "we should do this" or something along those lines. We do as much as we can, but there is a lot of things going on right now that we just cant control. We are doing the best we can but until we can get certain things straightened out, and all of our shit in order, we cant do a thing. All we ask of you all is to be patient and let us do our jobs.

...I didn't even realize I've been any help at all around here.

But anyway, I think the reason I took offense to that wasn't that it was directed at me, because I knew he was speaking in general. It's just that I haven't seen a whole lot of people "bitching" about how things should be, if anything all I've seen are a lot of suggestions. I mean, I make suggestions whenever I see something that could be improved around here, because I feel like this site has a lot of room to grow into something greater than it already is. I guess it's annoying when everyone suggests the same thing, but the easiest response to that would be to just say "we're working on it" or something. That's what I'd expect anyway, instead of something like Kæton's post I responded to. Things like that take me by surprise, I don't expect someone to get so steamed up over one thing. Granted, I haven't seen every time someone's said the same thing I did, so I didn't know how redundant what I said was. Maybe I went a little too much on the philosophy of "one long angsty post deserves another" with my response to him, I guess I can see why it's frustrating.

There are people that complain a lot more than I do, and I guess they just need to understand that once they make a suggestion and a staff member takes it into consideration, things don't change until staff says otherwise.

    I agree with tasta.

And yes tasta, you're an excellent poster and a great help to the site.

Yeah, it is actually. You helped us out with content and all that good shit.

But I understand your frustration. Were all frustrated lately. We try as best we can, we honestly do. See the problem is, things we need to upgrade the site are unable to be retrieved right now, because it was all custom-written by Alex, who noticably has disappeared in the past few months. We tried to get what we can without him, but theres the last piece of the puzzle that we are stuck on. But hopefully soon we can get everything and then work on upgrading. We have priorities, trust me on this. Its just going to take some time.

Tasta got owned by my sarcasm. ^_^

Everyone ignores what I say after my quote. Read again! I said I can't take this issue seriously anymore so I called you children. Why should I take you serious when all people do is be sarcastic about it? Note previous threads, and if you haven't seen them, then I suggest you read before acting like just because you didn't see it means we didn't see them.

Again, unless you want to pay for our liscenses and get our "behind-the-scenes" crap resolved with the simple twitch of your finger, I suggest you sit down and stop trying to act like we don't know what we're doing.

So yeah, you got owned by sarcasm, that's all. It's okay. :)

I've been a nice guy to people, and I've tried, but if you keep pushing issues we know about and DISCUSS ALREADY, then I'll be damned if I am any where out of line for slapping you fools with some sarcasm you deserve in return. How many times have we been forced to listen to Tomi's suggestions and everyone else telling us to upgrade but never telling us they'll chip in.

Granted we are the LPA, we are not any other fansite out there, so we want and can only be LPA whether you like it or not. We do what we can with what we have and we try our best dispite what's going on behind the website.

Limitations are a pain, but we're trying and you as the members should just be happy with what we can currently present.

With this whole thread, shouldn't you just be happy we have a thread telling you how many warnings you have and what you did to get those warnings rather than us being stingy and telling you that it's none of our business? I call some people kids here because of the way they act. Instead of hating on us so much, it'd be nice to have appreciation rather than people continuously "beating the dead horse," in this case the horse is just down, it isn't dead, but that doesn't mean it isn't going to move, just not yet. You gotta' just wait.

All I have to say if you don't want me to get sarcastic on you or anyone else, then think before you post. This thread started out as innocent, yet it always has to come down to what LPA lacks rather than what LPA currently tries to provide to you.

I never was the best at picking up on sarcasm, even in person I get fooled sometimes. 'Nuff said there.

The horse has fallen and he can't get up. I like it.

I think the greatest irony in all this is that Alex's title is "Invision sucks."

    Ahh...General Keaton...the negotiator.

Ha ha, just kidding. People, Keaton's right about this whole thing. He explained pretty well what he meant and how things are going to be. Instead of arguing, you might want to listen to him. For him to take the time and explain that...you know he's serious.

I respect you for that, Keaton. *claps*

    Yeah, no problem. ;)

And to think I was insane enough to buy a lifetime license [which is now renamed to Perpetual]...best investment I've ever made thou...

    ...I'll shut up now.

I think it'd be a good idea to close the topic, because the idea has obviously been rejected and all we're going to talk about is IPB...................

Its a bit ungrateful of people keep going on about how these boards and the site isn't good enough and how things should change but if it really annoys you so much don't stay! The staff in my opinion are some of the best out there, they spend a hell of a lot of time making things as good as possible on here. They don't do it for themselves-they do it for everyone that comes here! I don't think there is many more forums where the staff are as lenient and listen to the members problems as much as they do here. I mean how many other forums do you know that actually let you retract a banning!!! Most places you are banned and thats it. Show some bloody gratitude.
