Yeah. Lara's mansion was a game in itself i always thought.
Well it hasn't been 100% confirmed that it'll be playable, just that her mansion will return as she has a tech team back at her mansion. But why would Riley go to all those lengths to say the mansion is back if it wasn't playable? So yes, I'm sure we can expect Lara's mansion in brand spanking new Next Gen graphics. I cant wait! Not too much new info has surfaced lately except for the fact (as shown in the first post) that no media outlet has given a negative impression of Legend yet. One of G4TV's hosts called it one of the biggest surprises of E3 and that the "PS2 Tech on this game is incredible". IGN said that if the one level they saw was any indication, then the series is in good hands. And finally Gamespot seemed really pleased with the game and was looking forward to seeing more. So there's 3 well known Tomb Raider haters, backing this game. This could be good folks.
British gaming site Wanadoo has named "Legend" as one of the 20 next gen games they are looking forward to playing this year. Here Just another site that believes Legend is going to rock.
im actually quite excited about this i was quite disapointed with AoD so hopefully this game can restore my faith in the tomb raider series o by the way *BUMP*
An Xbox 360 version of the game has been confirmed to be in development, as well as a PSP version...both of which may or may not be released later than their PC/PS2/ and Xbox counterparts. Legend will also be 'Xbox Live Aware' although no details have been given as to what the online component of the game will be used for. Furthermore, hand to hand combat will be returning in this game, but not in the same form that it was found in Angel of Darkness. Instead, melee attacks are now intended to incapicate and/or confuse an enemy so that Lara can finish them off with a point blank shot at close range. The game is said to be currentely 60-70% done and according to reports the graphics at this state already defeat other PS2 games on the market, and are up there with such games as MGS3 and the like. With months to go in the development, there is plently of time to add the extra polish needed to get it looking even better. Old characters will return although they have not been specified, with one of the NEW characters being a female nemesis that is as rich and equally equipped as Lara Croft. However, as you can already guess..no information has been leaked as to the identity of this character. Infact information at the moment is rather slim and probably will not be great until the official site's launch sometime in the summer. Regardless, you can be sure that as new information comes in about the game, this place will be the best place to look.
Over what? . Rumor is we haven't even seen the final Lara Croft model yet. It wont be revealed until July I think.

Yeah, I don't have any of the games for TR, but I've played them before and they are excellent. I'm hoping Legend does extremely well and I hope it's worth buying.

I'm hoping Legend does extremely well and I hope it's worth buying.
Me too, Tomb Raider was what really got me into third person shooter games as after I played TR1 back in 96, I fell in love with the series and tried to find more games that were like it. Call me a weird or obsessed, but at times I cant understand how people could not have liked Tomb Raider when it first came out because Lara Croft is so unique. I was just commenting after looking at this shot here that she seems to pop off of the screen now because of the detail (aka realism) that they've put into her. Technology is coming along so fast now that when Tomb Raider 8 comes around (it can only be assumed if Legend doesnt bomb that TR8 will follow shortly after on the PS3 and Xbox 2) that it'll no longer feel like Lara Croft isn't a real person anymore. Crystal Dynamics already pushed Lara Croft's model farther than this and (while I dont understand why they didnt keep it) they said she looked so real it was almost creepy so they had to 'give her back some of her cartoony features, to retain that iconic feel that she has. However...after Legend, I dont think Lara Croft should retain any cartoony features anymore. If Legend warrants a sequel, I want Crystal to explore that 'scary realism' side of Lara that they chose not to use for this game. If she already looks based on a real person in these new screenshots, I'm anxious to know how Tomb Raider can look on the PS3. So much more is possible with these new systems such as realistic skin and extremely detailed environments, so it'll be interesting to see how a game with such large environments will translate over to the new next generation systems next year.
Technically Tomb Raider is an action/platform game, Derek... And people did like Tomb Raider, what are you talking about? Lara Croft was one of the first games with a female as the powerful main character that could kick major ass, which made her popular with the females, and her erm... character model made her popular with the males, lol.
You'd be surprised Keaton. There were a lot of people who have never played it because they thought it looked stupid. (Btw, TR in my mind is a 3PS mixed with a platformer) Infact, our ex member Will is one of the many people who probably wont give Tomb Raider a chance even if this game scores anything above a 9/10 (which im really hoping). Personally, Lara's ability to kick ass is why so many people like her. Yeah she's fictional but she's different in the fact that she's still a "lady" behind it all. Some female characters are rather manly and made to be slutty, but Lara is very feminine, strong, and after kicking your ass she'll show you her upper-class upbringing . Infact, my favorite part of the games have been her famous one-liners that Core did really well in writing. One of my favorite parts is after the Great Wall in TR2 when the guy tries to ambush her from above. Lara: *pointing guns at the thug who landed against the door* "Pardon me, if that was just your way of trying the doors for me." Crystal Dynamics is supposed to be excellent at scriptwriting though, and Riley Cooper promised her 'cheeky' comments would return in this game. I cant wait lol.
Showing that Lara Croft is still indeed a part of the male gamers' "hearts", Lara took home the gold in the G4 Video Game Vixen's viewer's choice category for Best Beauty on Tuesday. There's still plenty of chances for Lara to win even more awards however, as the "Dressed to Kill, Sexiest Finish and Best Booty" winners will be announced next week on June the 14th. Crystal Dynamics have apparentely acheived the impossible. They took a series that had already fallen flat on its face, and rekindled a public interest in Lara Croft that had been missing for quite some time. Good for them . Here's a glimpse of the possible new Lara Croft model to promote "Legend" at press events: Furthermore, it appears that German PS2 magazine "Play The Playstation" has awarded Legend with the 'Best PS2 Graphics of E3' award in thier E3 magazine coverage. This beat out such games as the new Burnout and etc. Looks like two more big wins for Lara Croft!
Looks kinda cool B) I swear to fucking god, Derek forced me into posting this so he could post again, him seeing this is just proof of his paranoia surrounding his inner thoughts within the cortex complexity of his brain.... I have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about
Good work minion, now I can force-feed more TR information down the throats of LPAers! Okay, now everyone gotta read this article, especially the part(s) I've bolded out: Oh yeah, and Lara took home another G4 award. This time for best ass.
Careful not to love me too much sir, or I might begin to get a little worried. A little tidbit of info to add to the ongoing media storm: Lara's official voice actress hasn't been found yet as they are very carefully scouring the globe to ensure they've found the PERFECT Lara Croft. I suppose this is why the game is 70% done, as the gameplay and graphics have probably already been sorted out..now they just need to work on the voice acting in the game. Also, oddly enough..Lara's trusty old butler (Winston) is going to have a crucial role in this game. Apparentely he's the head of Lara's tech team thats presumably going to be stationed back at her home in Surrey, England (although this has yet to be confirmed). Official site updates are rumored to be coming on July 1st, so I will post a large post when the site 'officially launches this summer' (pending I dont get new info or screens before then).
On a sidenote, the most Lara Croft-ish I've ever seen Angelina Jolie was not in any of the TR movies, but in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Derek, I think that you would be the PERFECT candidate for Croft's voice.
