The main thing I dislike is they don't have enough albums...They just need to start making more albums. But they also need to find a way to put more of they songs that they spend a lot of time on on an album. I know they have created a lot better stuff, they just need to put it on an album. As for the solo thing, I think it's awesome, and I think if Chester made a solo CD that would be a HUGE hit, but so will Mike Shinoda's CD.
I think this band has been losing his rocker style in the last albuns. I am afraid Linkin Park could become a pop rock band!!! I hope that the future albuns can have more rock!!! I would like the members of the band can diminue their age or stop that, but this is not possible unless there are a magic potion!!
- It takes them FOREVER to put out original material. (2 albums in 4 1/2 years with up to another year's wait before we get a 3rd? I mean come on, back in the '70s some of the most successful artists put out 3 albums in as little as 18 months.) - Their overall apparent fear of taking risks (Following a preconstructed formula for their songs, bland and easy-as-pie guitar/bass parts, lack of solos, letting Don Gilmore push them around when it came to making Meteora, etc. etc.) - How watered-down the lyrics are compared from Hybrid Theory to Meteora, Hybrid Theory EP/demos to Hybrid Theory, etc. - How they withold demos and unreleased songs from their fans (which I admit they don't have total control of, hopefully getting off Warner will help the matter...) - The record label they're on. (2nd worst in the business to Wind Up Records as far as how their artists are treated) - The number of teenies that think Numb is the saddest song ever. One, the song is hands down the crappiest song LP has ever recorded, and two, you're pathetic for listening to it. Take the CD out, crack it in half, and slit your wrists with the broken pieces. It's over, they're done, you're done, no more. (Little homage to Foamy the Squirrel there )
first of all...dont make a solo album that makes you come off as a rob thomas. everyone would HATE that..haha. secondly...make an album like reanimation - the best of the 5 linkin park cd's. the beats were really good, and they still kept their edge in the cd as well. i totally agree w/ the "teenie craze" as well. its a lot like green day, becoming so popular and overplayed so suddenly. sorry young boys and girls, but you dont know green day like the majority knows them, when they were younger, and much much better. doesnt help that pop and rock radio stations overplay LP too, so ya kinda get sick of them after a while. but to give some sort of credit...its mad tough to come out w/ a good second album. either ur critized for it sounding too the same...or for not sounding as similar as the first. plus there is only so much pissed-off music i can listen to (idk if its the same for anyone else). i think i'm starting to outgrow them maybe. but, they do play very good live shows though...saw them when they came to rochester, ny in like '03, and i would like to see them again. there...im done.
To give a counterpoint to what your first point, it could be worse. Look at Nine Inch Nails. 6 years between two albums. And to add to your last point... It's not across the street... It's not down the highway... It's straight through the jugular.
Yeah. They don't need to cuss with lyrics like "I wanna heal, I wanna feel, like I'm close to something real."
Cussing... There will probably be a lot of that on Fort Minor though. That's not my dislike about LP though. It's just how they've been going with Warner Bros. (they're leaving, though) and the fact that they've been sticking with Don Gilmore as their album producer.
another thing: anyone recently hear that LP was asking for a 60 million dollar contract from their lable, otherwise...they'd walk?! wtf is up w/ that? apparently it's all about $$$$$$ now and not material. secondly. if anyone went to the 2003 Rochester New York Projekt Rev tour, we all know that it was postponed from april to july bc of snow (typical ny). the original lineup for april was LP, mudvayne, xzibit, and blindside....but in july they modified that to LP, mudvayne, jurassic 5 and cold. now...if anyone paid attention, in the jurassic 5 hip/hop group, is a man by the name of chali 2na....the same dood who did tracks 4 and 5 of reanimation...and during that rochester show, they didnt play the remix version of "forgotten" -- whihc i think would have been pretty friggin sweet. eh.
Cussing dumbs down the lyrics in many cases, but you're right. They don't need it with those kinds of lyrics. They dumb down their music enough by themselves.
