That's because Metallica was the greatest band in the world until 1991. MoP is the best metal album ever, IMO. [/b][/quote]
That is exactly the point i want to convey

What happened? People hate the album, that's what happened. I'm not making fun of anyone who likes it, because we all have out own preferences, but the public as a whole hated it -- including a good amount of their fans.

I didn't say that teenies didn't buy Linkin Park albums or aren't interested in linkin Park as a whole. But I'm saying that teenies supported LB as a whole and once they were viewed as not being cool anymore they lost a good portion of their fan base. Not only did they loose those teenie they also lost loyal fans becasue obviously they thought that thier music was starting to turn to shit also. But I do believe that if Linkin Park put out a really hard metal album and a bunch of teenies lost support in them they would still be able to profit as a band and sell records casue they would still have a large loyal fan base. Whereas i dont tihnk that LB had a very large loyal fan base to begin with. I mean thats providing that the quality of LP's music didn't go downhill either.

I've been proclaiming that theory since Fred met Britney and couldn't keep his ego in his pants.

Same here. I think they have been sellouts their entire career.

I don't think it's possible for a band to be a sell out for their entire career, since that would mean they were sellouts when the band formed, which was quite the opposite actually.

As for the album sales, if anything I think it shows two things:

1.) Fred Durst's ignorance. He thought he could market an album without any hype, and count on his fans, and it fell through. Oh well. I like the album so whatever.

2.) That Limp Bizkit's hardcore fans are morons, and don't like change, obviously. The fact that their highest selling CD was a steaming pile of shit shows alot, and then their next (which was fantastic, and miles ahead of the one before that, despite what EVERYONE thinks) sold about 5 million less copies. How sad.

you couldn't have been more correct, because i am one of those kids.
fave bands 5 years ago: limp bizkit and korn
fave bands now: lovehatehero, haste the day, and BEDlight for blueEYES

oh, and by the way, i hate the album because, although the guitar is pretty cool, fred's vocals don't mesh with it whatsoever. He doesn't rap or sing, he just says some lines that don't even rhyme over the hard guitar and tries to pass them off as good lyrics, and although they are a lot better than anything he has written before, the lyrics suck compared to everyone else's, and he tries to act like he's an anarchist and a philosophical thinker more than ever now. just sell out and make pop songs that are easy for my kid brother to listen to, because that's what you're good at, fred.

What the fuck? You couldn't be anymore wrong.

My fav(orite) bands 5 years ago - Linkin Park, Disturbed, Adema, Flaw...
My favorite bands now - Mudvayne, Tool, Dream Theater, Otep, APC

Not every (ex)/LP fan is a preppy, likewhatspopular person, you know. ;)

And it's funny that you, and many other people, are dissing a band that used to be your favorite. They experiment. Stop whining. Rather every album be expected and the same as the first?

I'm actually listening to more experimental stuff (Black Dice, Merzbow, Auditory Aphasia) now, as opposed to those two shit genres J Money suggested we all apparently listen to now.

well then i suppose i don't like this "experiment". usually "experiments" have some sort of talent involved, but there is no talent in the songs coming from the vocal side of things. hey, just because i used to like someone means that i can't change my mind? hell, i used to like george w. bush before the 2000 election, because my conservative mom told me he was the right candidate. i was misinformed. i was also misinformed and naive when it came to music. i was young. i now think that both president bush and fred durst are in their games for the money and don't have talent. perhaps fred now sees that the media wants to make money off of him too, so with this album he tried to spite them in some way, or maybe even now he really wants to create art. either way, the album is trash. i don't disrespect him as a human being, because if he wants to get rich, that's great. if he wants to create art now, that's great too, but i don't like it and think this shows he doesn't have talent for being innovative and creative. good for you, i like mudvayne, tool, apc, and otep too. perhaps instead of, "you couldn't have been any more correct" i should have said, "this example applies to me and i can vouch for what you are trying to prove." agreeing a bit more?

My favorite bands 5 years ago: Red Hot Chili Peppers, NIN, Jane's Addiction (because I didn't know Linkin Park back then).
My favorite bands now: Red Hot Chili Peppers, NIN, Linkin Park, Jane's Addiction, System of a Down, Mars Volta, and even more than the rest, I'm into club music now.

Don't assume you know everything, J Money.

I listen to a lot of genres, and I never bought LB's albums because they suck. I know some people who were into the Bizkit who actually listen to classical.

    How teenie is that, eh?

Maybe something shorter like "I agree." would have sufficed, but yes, "I agree" more with what you said now.

people on here sure do fight alot. :D

    to stay on topic....
never even knew a new ablum was coming out till I saw someone on here (dont remember name) with a sig promoting LB.

I kind of liked LB when I first got into music, but then I had a friend introduce me to NIN.
Its kind of sad because the instrumentation of LB is pretty good, I just dont care for Fred as a front man.

I havnt heard the latest cds so I cant make any further comments.

    I agree wholeheartedly.

Wes Borland should just go and make his own band, damnit. Going back to Limp... eh.

Either that or Fred should leave Limp and get a new front man to replace him.

Where do you think Wes was when he left Limp Bizkit? At home eating potato chips watching Opera?

Wes has a band called BIGdumbFACE. Or he has something else, but he does have a band. After the touring for Limp is done, his album will come out.

Shut your big dumb face up.

I'm sorry, I'm not up to date on all that is Borland.

That stopped when I got my first restraining order.

    Ah, memories... :hugz:
