A Perfect Circle, to me, is uninspiring quasi-art rock. Much like Tool, except they're inspired by something.

Maynard should ditch APC and stick with what made him famous, but it's his life. APC is a commerical success, so more power to him. I just think it's uninspired drivel.

Because of course if it's commercial than it just can't be good, what sellouts!

I happen to like APC very much and find a lot of their work better than Tool. It's still very dark but a lot more accessible than Tool, which APC's fans appreciate. I can't say I cared much for the 1st album, but Thirteenth Step was amazing in my opinion, especially with all of the darkness in songs like "The Noose" and "Weak And Powerless", but notice towards the end "Gravity" is uplifting and postive, and that's a good thing. They want on an anti-war rampage with their 3rd album "Emotive" but they covered some of those songs well, I liked "Imagine".

Overall I respect this group very much and still respect Tool as well; just because they're more commercial than Tool doesn't take any artistic merit away from them in my opinion.

Goddamn, you and ScrewOff must be brothers because you both assume when I bash something, it must be because the band is mainstream.

I think A Perfect Circle is uninspired drivel because the lyrics are weak, the instrumentation is poor, and overall... it just sucks in my opinion.

My favorite band has millions of teenie fans because of one song. Of course I don't think because it's mainstream it's shit. I think it's shit because I think it's shit. I've heard better bands.

I think APC are great. "Blue", "The Noose", "Passive", "Weak and Powerless", "Judith", "Hollow", and "The Passenger" are all great. I love 'Thirteenth Step'.

I love APC. Haven't listened to them in a while, I probably would if they were to come out with a new CD. They're an amazing band.

Edit: I wonder if that article saying Maynard found Jesus still stands true.

    APC has some good stuff.

They also have some stupid 'we like to look meaningful' stuff.

You can't name a song with like 50 words, then have a song where you're just droning on about shit for the whole thing.

I don't know the order of the songs, but whatever cd had The Outsider and The Package was good. Emotive was crap.

I love APC. One of my fave bands!

Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step are awesome and I agree with Neil that eMOTIVe is crap.

I always see eMOTIVe as like...a break. And I don't like that.

Obviously you can "name a song with like 50 words" and then "have a song where you'r just droning on about shit for the whole thing." (Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums"?) Because they've pulled it off before.

And I don't know if you know this about eMOTIVe, but it mainly consisted of covers, except for "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums" and "Passive".

Yes, my mistake. Wasn't it a collaboration with both Maynard and Trent Reznor...correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not positive.

I Believe Mr. Reznor wrote the song or co-wrote it. I can't exactly remember which.

    EDIT:
So apparently, it was a song that was for the since-cancelled Keenan/Reznor side project Tapeworm, and then was retitled for The APC album.

Yeah, for the Tapeworm project. APC performed it live in 2001 with the title, Vacant, which got Trent pissed, blah blah blah. Passive is the same song, but they retooled it alittle.

EDIT: Fuck you Branden, stop stealing my spotlight. <_<
