My fav. song now is ATLITW. This seems to be a very polarizing album. You either love it or hate it. And I agree with what some reviewers are saying. Which is that unlike other NIN albums you can just pop this CD in and enjoy it, you don't have to get so involved in it.
It's like a Still outtake, to be honest. Stripped down of all the synths and whatnot. Almost acoustic.
V2 is just Trent, a guitar, a small lyric change, a quiet, phased piano-sounding synth and atmosphere (soft, effected thunderstorm sounds in the background). The Mono-to-Stereo effect is gone in this version also. Sound "cleaner" to me. Definitely more depressing sounding than the original. Great version IMO but the album version works better with the feel of the album.
Agreed. After hearing the album version, the guitar just doesn't sound right. The melody is off. EDIT: Billboard has made it official, With Teeth debuted at NUMBER 1!
http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_...t_id=1000918544 'With Teeth' sells 272,000 copies in it's first week in the US.
I'm not a huge NIN fan but it seems like With Teeth is a breath of fresh air for rock. I paid to download it and only liked "The Hand That Feeds" and "Every Day Is Exactly The Same", which I thought was brilliant and had amazing lyrics, but the rest of the tracks I didn't care for. Anyways even though I'm not big on them seems like enough people are and if it takes the top spot away from 50 and Mariah, then more power to it
Forgive the pun, but only Only, please. They're only playing one song, according the press release, and that's THTF. Of course, the last time they were at the MTV awards, they were supposed to play 'We're In This Together' and instead played 'The Fragile.'
Minus is becoming a little version of me. Rips information from me, and is more annoying than I. Nah, only joking. I'm holding on to the chance that Trent will pull something out of his sleeve and perform something we're not expecting. Like With Teeth.
Forgive the pun, but only Only, please. [/b][/quote] Sorry It would be cool to do the intro of "Closer" or "Wish" and then stop.. and then go into "Only". Yeah, i'll stop fantasizing (??)
That reminds me of the time Nirvana played the beginning of Rape Me when they were suppose to play Lithium. I doubt he'll do that this time. Most likely the MTV execs are probably telling him ''You can't do that this time.''
