Hey, you guys have heard the interesting news of linkin park wanting to get off warner right? Well they are on a 10 album deal with them right? They say their are 4 albums left I tried couting to six, but only 5 come to mind. 1. hybrid theory 2. Reanimation 3. Meteora 4. Live in Texas 5. Collision Course What is the sixth album, Fort Minor? I thought FM was on Machine Shop, is it also on Warner? Also does Mike Shinoda own Machind Shop Records completly? If not, then who does?
DVDs count as albums now? :wth:
I think so. The other DVD's didn't count for some reason...
that only classifies as a single release.
Yeah, which is why it isn't a DVD that counts as an album release from Warner Bros.
Because it still rakes in just as much or even more cash than a regular album. Hybrid Theory -> Frat Party -> Reanimation -> Meteora -> Live In Texas -> Collision Course. It's not necessarily a ten album deal, more like a ten release deal. A full length DVD release such as Frat Party would count.
An easier way to figure out album releases, is to see what is certified gold and platinum, but isn't a single. This is why bands that eventually get big after one album, started pumping out some DVDs to get out of their deal, and get a better deal sooner, than later.
Actually he has a few options, because he isn't signed to Warner Bros as a solo artist, Mike can list everyone down on the band as in someway help the album that is the only way he can list it as a band production, otherwise, he has the right to release it just on Machine Shop Records, and use Warner Bros to send the CDs around the world. This is much like 50 Cent and G-Unit Records. 50 is signed to Aftermath/Shady, but the G-Unit crew is just signed down to G-Unit Records, but 50 Cent is signed down to Shady/Aftermath. In the end, a solo artist, and a group are each counted as a different identity, when it comes down to record deals.

The Third Album "Meteora's follow up" 2. Fort Minor 3. Frat party 2- is highly in speculation right now. But what about number 4 eh?
Linkin Park are trying to get out of the deal without having to release anything. That's the point of the whole thing. They are demanding release. Otherwise this wouldn't be a news.

But what about number 4 eh?
not in that order as fort minor will be released well before any major linkin park release. Im guessin the 4th one will just be a filler....like greatest hits release, another remix album , or somethin like that.
