please have the deecency of reading all of this post before replying and slagging me off.... ok let me get this into perspective, if you go to the news section and look, youll find a fairly recent news post which claims that linkin park have pocketed a total of 33.1 million dollars. that seems quite a lot seeing as they have only released two studio albums. youd think theyd have that after say four or five studio albums. but no! instead of actually making more albums they took the easy route of making money by constantly releasing things on the side like live in texas, reanimation, frat party, and collision course. as a total linkin park now have more things released on the side than studio albums if the truths known, linkin park either dont want to make a new album, or they cant theyve ran out of fresh ideas, hence why some of the tracks on meteora sound remacably like the ones on hybrid theory, infact they sucked as much money out of those two albums as they possibly could, releasing four or five singles from each one. collision course is not an amasing invention of how two different artists music brilliantly come together, it is simply another thing to give them money without having to go to the bother of making another studio album, and the same goes for reanimation. its the same with the linkin park underground and pretty mutch everything else associated with lp, its just another way of sucking money in fast. linkin park are a greedy band, whenever i see or hear linkin parks music the only thing that immidietly comes to mind is the word greed is it me or is everyone blind i am no longer going to be one of their gullable deciples of greed, and i believe that there are more people than just my self that think the same. its about time some one had the guts to "step up" and speak the truth. thank you for taking the time to read the truth
you need help if you think like that: linkin park have worked together since 1997 and have strived forward in that time. form being complete unknows to household names. sure what you said is true - and yes linkin park have earned lots of money by putting out many cd albums, singles, dvds and other things like books.... but who is buying them? the fans. and why are the fans buying them? beacause they want to. LP have done many side projects because they can - and because they want too. reaniamtion was a great cd and was what LP wanted to do after the success of hybrid theory. they wanted to work with different people and see how they do things and earn valuable experience doing so. working with Jay-Z is something that most people cant say they have done. LP can however. LP are still pretty young and they want the fans to experience what they have. by releasing the volume of media they have the fans can feel a part of the set up. i know i do.
Yes, because working on a side project with Jay-Z in such a fashion that all the money goes to Rocafella Records, WB, and MTV is SUCH a money-grubbing deal. It's called trying new things. It's like capitalizing... it's hard to do at first, but once you get it, it helps immensely. please have the deecency to think i'm not making fun of your typing so read all of this post before replying and slagging me off...
In some things you ve said you have write and i believe what you are saying. I don't like the collision course idea but i like their 2 albums and the EP. I listen to what i like so i don't care what they are doing in the time that i like their songs
I really like Collision Course!!! First time I heard it,I didn't but after 3 times..I found it very unusual! so...Il like it All u wrote there...NOT TRUE! LP the best band...who is workin'!!!
i think that LP trying different things and styles is great. not many bands get away with speading their wings. i also love reamimation cause it still feels very orginal to me. yes, LP have made lots and lots of dough but how much have they given back to various good causes? they haven't pocked every penny for them selfs like many other famous people do!
agree! U must read info abt : all money the got from Merch..Mike gives to his scholl in which he studied. )
Many people talked about how LP is recycling it's music. I choose to see it as an effort to keep the fans interested; let's not forget the band can't release a studio album every year, so if a few dollars is what they wan't in return to a different, yet familiar piece of work, I say let them have it, both sides benefit. Plus, don't forget all the donations and charities LP has given away since it's early days of success.
I think if anything, it shows how popular Linkin Park is, and how rabid their fans are for anything they put out. Like you wouldn't do the same thing. Psh.
Are u serious bro, if you don't like what LP is doing then move on. No one who has ever made their mark ever made it by following someone else's path, LP is trying to appeal to all types people and show their versitility, I loved everything they've put out sofar, and I say keep it up as long as they do them and stay in touch with the fans. Greed? They make the music, and you buy the cd's, hell if anything they're trying to make us happy.
You might want to take into careful consideration that Linkin Park does not care about the money. There was actually an interview mentioning how Linkin Park doesn't care for that. They do what they do for the fans, and also because they enjoy doing what they do. You have mentioned how they have released more side items than CD's. That's not their fault. All the side items are for the fans. They're not doing it for the money, nor are they doing it because they are afraid of making new material. Linkin Park is probably already making new material for their upcoming album. They are releasing DVD's because it gives fans more of an idea of who Linkin Park is, and their perspective behind projects that they've been doing (such as the Breaking the Habit DVD). I'm sorry to say this, but you are not mentioning the truth. EDIT: Spelling error SECOND EDIT: Also, about Meteora...Linkin Park made Meteora sound so much like Hybrid Theory not because it's what they wanted to. They mentioned how they didn't want a watered-down version of Hybrid Theory. At the time, they didn't want to go into a lot of new things. They stuck to a familiar style. That's most likely the only reason Meteora sounded so much like Hybrid Theory. Don't blame Linkin Park. Blame Don Gilmore and Warner Bros. Records.
Are you serious? Do you really think world famous musicians don't care about money? ...Are you serious?
Listen. They probably do care about money. But do you think that they fancy it and show it off like snobs? That's what I mean. They care about the money only for reasons such as raising a family, keeping their home, buying cars for transporation, and new equipment and time in the studio. And maybe a little bit to please themselves. But there was an interview with Chester and he said the wasn't a fan of the whole rich and wealthy thing.
And if you read the news story from today, you'll see that, although LP is responsible for 10% of WB's record sales, they barely get anything for it. Hopefully they'll be able to leave and start their own label where they can make music without a big time corportation controlling them and taking all of their money.
Of course LP care about money. Of course LP care about music. If you don't like Linkin Park, it's your opinion. Believe what you want. Whether LP are snobs and only care about money or not, I will still believe in LP and their music. I tend to believe that they aren't who you think because millions of people among myself immensely enjoy their music. Sure, LP are releasing a crap load of side projects. I have three words for you: deal with it.
I agree. Linkin Park arn't out there for the money, they are doing something they love and something that their fans do to. If they deserve a bit of money because of the effort they put into pleasing their fans then so be it. Linkin park release side projects because they like to be diverse and do different things and then show them to the fans. I mean Linkin Park could have played with Jay-Z and the live audience could have been the only ones to ever hear it. Now who wants that. Linkin park also released DVD's and you're acting like it is purely because they know their sucker fans will but them. NO. i buy the DVD's cause i'm interested in LP and it isn't often you get to hear them comment on their music and hear them be themselves. If you think Linkin Park are just trying to suck money out of their fans then leave and never buy a Linkin Park album or side project again. That is your choice. But i believe you are sorely mistaken. EDIT spelling errors
