As we know Carousel, and Part Of Me have demos to them, however it is most likely that these were "remastered versions" of their HT EP counterparts because they are much better in audio quality. I now believe after doing my research that with "And One" it's the same story. All three can still technically be called "demos" because in a sense they were for Hybrid Theory but we're most likely made after Hybrid Theory EP was released. Here is the track list for that disc, essentially this disc pieces together the puzzle better and had it not been for this disc, these Hybrid Theory demos would have not been released and kept hidden like the Meteora b-sides or demos that we'll probably never get a chance to hear. Hybrid Theory Demo Disc 1 - The Untitled 2 - Points Of Authority 3 - Super Xero 4 - Crawling 5 - Carousel 6 - Part of Me 7 - And One 8 - Rhinestone 9 - Esaul I just want to make sure I'm correct with this information. Opinions?
"And One" and stuff sounds exactly the same as it does on the EP. Basically that means they just shifted that track to the Demo disc. Technically it wouldn't be a demo/b-side to Hybrid Theory as it is just being transferred onto another "album." A lot of artists do that--especially for demo discs or samplers for their music or something. There is in fact a Carousel and Part of Me demo, but as for an And One demo, I don't know. But the difference between this whole And One situation is if in fact there is one, it is not on the Hybrid Theory demo disc because I know for a fact it's just the EP version. Nonetheless, yeah, that demo disc is correct, but it's not demos of the songs--they're just the EP songs put on the disc. Probably their pride-and-joy songs off the EP... Or something, I don't know.
I've heard both versions of And One and it looks like although they did not change the song structure, it was enhanced audio quality wise as was Part Of Me and Carousel, but we tend to seperate those two because changes were made in the songs. I believe all 3 tracks were selected off the EP as potential HT tracks but of course didn't make the cut. However, since And One is on the demo disc with tracks such as Esaul and Untitled it still can be called a demo I believe, a demo for Hybrid Theory and not for Hybrid Theory EP. Anything that essentially doesn't make the final cut is a b-side or demo, as is the case with this enhanced version of And One I'm writing about.
Why do people care about the demos so much anyway? I mean, they're good to listen to like once to see how the much the song was changed but, I don't see why so many people care so much.
i'm not all obsessed with the demos or anything, but in my opinion the demos are much better than the originals. That's just my opinion though. I love all LP songs, but the demos have more edge to them, better lyrics, better sound.
Holy shit, I'm a moron I completely got you confused with someone else on this board. For this topic post anyway. The trade list 'attack' still stands. I thought you were the one posting about Ambient being a meteora b-side. Very sorry, and it's been edited.
what the hell ... ? anyway, i just want to ask, which version of esaul is on the disc?? 'cause there are about 3 versions and they're all very similar.
Actually, they're all demos, except for "And One", which is an exact copy of the HTEP version, yet it was just put on the demo disc at the time by the band, before HTEP.
Did you read my whole post on that topic, Mark...? I said the exact same thing... You just mentioned... Not to mention this was closed for erm.... necroposting... Tsk tsk, Mark!
