Hi guys, it's been a while since I last posted at lpassociation. Have you guys ever realised that Easier To Run is similar to Crawling? Both songs have a soft beat as the intro, then the chorus, and then Chester sings very soft before Mike raps a little bit. But Easier To Run has a 3rd verse (Just washing it aside, ..) unlike Crawling. Try listening to Crawling first and then Easier To Run, you'll know what I meant If any of you guyz knew about this already, please press Back on your browser lol
There's such similarity in lots of LP songs, this is their basic song structure. FTI, if you ask me, sounds more like Crawling than ETR does.
In my opinion, I think they recycled the styles of the HT songs and converted to new ones to put on Meteora
HT is way more vivid then Meteora , and almost each song in it is different from the other, while Meteora sounds almost the same throughout the entire album...but it still is a great album indeed.
You could twin most of the songs on Meteora with Hybrid Theory's. For instance, Hit The Floor is like Papercut but slower and Numb is In The End with no rapping (duh) and nowhere near the quality of the former.
the bass line in Crawling and Numb is very similar (in the slow part of the song, or the verse lines)
I don't know how radically people wanted LP to change after Hybrid Theory (without complaining they changed too much) but I guess you can't please everyone. I personally love Meteora and prefer it over Hybrid Theory anyday but that's just my opinion. It's strange though how most people go on the Meteora forum just to bash it. I don't how how much fans want LP's music to change until they complain it's changed too much, can't please everyone though.
How do you get 99% out of 13 songs? But yeah, Easier to Run is similar to crawling, cure for the Itch and Session of course, Somewhere I Belong and In the End are somewhat similar (both are the longest tracks on the album, big hit single, same song structure), the list goes on.
I don't get how people compare the songs...I listen to Somewhere I Belong and In The End and see how they're somewhat similar, but I haven't heard a LP song that sounds so much alike to another one that you could list them together...Hit The Floor and Papercut? what?????
That's ridiculous, Faint and LFY don't sound much alike at all. I agree that ETR and Crawling sound similar....That was noticeable the first time I heard it. I've read an interview where even chester has admitted that Meteora was just an extension of HT. The subject of HT and Meteora sounding similar has been covered many times BTW.
i see Numb as more similar to Crawling because of that bit at the end, with bits of the verse in it. i also agree that In The End is similar to Somewhere I Belong, in particular, the verses. the bridge in Figure.09 is a lot like that of By Myself. Hit The Floor is very similar to Papercut in it's vocal style (save for chester's screaming in the chorus) tempo, rhythm and maybe turntabling.
for me easier to run is not like crawling... easier to run is fantastic, crawling is fantastic..but they aren't similar this is what i think about
I don't think that comparison is true, but I think that, as a lot of others have said, many HT and Meteora songs can be paired up. The most obvious, I think, is In the End and Somewhere I Belong. They both even have Chester singing little phrases that fill in for words in Mike's rapping: "It starts with one" and "When this began"; "All I know" and "I was confused" and so on. Chorus: Chester singing; Bridge: Chester singing. Those are the most similar. The reason being, of course, that In the End was the most successful HT single, so why not make the same song as the first single to the new album?
