Linkin Park and their Music For Relief charity organization established in association with the American Red Cross are focusing attention on STANDFast, happening today April 7th, to create awareness on the ongoing genocide occuring the Darfur region of Sudan. MFR are asking students everywhere to put off buying something for themselves today, and to donate the money saved to a fund being used to provide relief for the malicious crimes being commited in that region of the world.

    Visit MusicForRelief.org for more information.

    Thanks to Neil!

Prob. I'm sure they meant April 7th.

I wish I was able to read this earlier.... :( I just bought some stuff for me that I really didn't need......

On an a more positive note, I am still trying to get a car wash fund raiser going to help MFR.

I hope you are being sarcastic.

On topic, Linkin Park is really doing a lot of work with the whole tsunami relief effort.

Okay, now do you want to comment on STANDFast? :p

They're really doing alot to make the world a better place. No matter who you are, a non-fan or fanatic, you have to admire that. It doesn't matter that nothing will ever be perfect in this world, it's the fact that artists are lending a hand and attempting to help others who aren't as fortunate as themselves.

This can only bring good things for all parties involved.

    Excuse me? [/b][/quote]
Sorry, I didn't mean the posting or anything, I meant of how it's taken so long for it to get out to the public that this is going on. The news has been recently dominated by the Schaivo case and the death of the Pope that we've been drawn away from more important issues, in my mind anyways.

This is great news; MFR needs more publicity, which could be spread on MTV, billboard & rolling stone, otherwise the donations would be less significant. 'Forever in our Hearts', the song that was recorded by a bunch of people for MFR, didn't make a significant impact on iTunes.

This is great news, Linkin Park and other MFR members are constantly working to improve the situations in disaster-struck countries.
