Here's the letter that was sent out to the Union Members (aka blindside's street team) that explains everything, something you may have known and new stuff:

Greetings friends – We are back !

Well it has been a really enjoyable few months for us. For the first time in MANY years we were able to take a nice long break. This was something we really needed to recharge physically and spiritually.

To fill you in on what has happened since we last saw you. We decided to leave Elektra when they merged with Atlantic and Warner, it wasn't much of a merge for Elektra since 95% of the staff got fired. We felt that rather than trying to make new friends at a company that didn't sign us in the first place, we should start over fresh somewhere else.

We had actually decided to start our own label WASA Recordings we were thinking about releasing the record on our own for the longest time. We had seen the good and the bad about a major label and felt it was time to move on and take control.

Then Derek Schulman from DRT started calling us and he wanted to partner with us to help us achieve our vision. He even flew out to Oklahoma to meet with our management. We had a chance to speak with him over the phone and he wasn't the typical record company-person that we were tired of. He had a real genuine interest in the band. We're very excited to see how our the partnership of WASA Recordings and DRT develops over the next couple of months.

So this is where you come in. The Union has the respect of the entire music industry. It was you guys who put “About A Burning Fire” into Billboards Top 40. It was you who helped us sell over 250,000 records in the U.S. Now it is time to do it all again. Except this time we are going to do it 4 times in one year!

For us 2005 is our most ambitious year. We just regained the rights to our first 2 Cd’s - “Blindside” and “A Thought Crushed my Mind”. On May 10th we will release them with 4 new tracks on each disc. New artwork designed by our very own Christian Lindskog. Both records will come in a special new cardboard sleeve with our new logo on.

Following this we will release a DVD celebrating our 10 year anniversary. This is called “Ten Years Running Blind”. It will have nearly 3 hours of content. Including a new documentary we have made ourselves. There is also 2 live shows – “Live at 110 degrees from Cornerstone 2003” and “The Internal Storm Tour Film”. As well as all our videos including the never-before-seen video for “About A Burning Fire”. Photo galleries and web videos and much more. It is something we are really proud of.

Then there will be a new record late in the summer. We're doing this record with Lasse Marten who did our first record. Our first record was his first record as a producer and he's been working with totally different kinds of music than rock over the years and he's an amazingly creative thinker so we know this record will stand out from what we've done earlier. We can’t wait for you to hear it.

We will of course tour this summer. We will be playing only a few festivals this year (Alive in Ohio, Lifest in Wisconsin and Spirit Monterey in California) but will be on the road June through August and look forward to seeing you all at a show real soon.

All of you in “The Union” mean a great deal to us. We are so thankful to be able to make music for a living and so grateful to all of you for the hard work you put into making that possible for us. We hope you are all rested and ready for a BIG year.

Wicked news, I've always been trying to get ahold of their older music. I like the route they have chosen and hope they continue with the success they have gotten in the past.

I'm Happy for them, Blindside has become one of my top 10 favorite bands since the release of "The Silencce" and "About a Burning Fire". Good to see them doing what they want with out corprit pricks holding them back. Plus we get a new album this summer, YES!

As well as new material this May (8 new tracks. Woo!). And the DVD following that.
