    Hi everybody, this is my first post but i've been a lurker for prob close to a year. Anyways, my question is, how do I take just the audio from a video file? I want to make a cd but have no idea how to do this. Thanks

    I downloaded a program called Xilisoft Audio Converter, its pretty straight forward on how to use it.

    To rip anything that comes out your computer's speakers, you can use any audio recorder (heck I guess you could use windows sound recorder). Go to the recording settings on your sound card (in the task bar) and select something similar to "stereo mix" or "what you hear." You should be able to hit record on the audio recorder and play whatever you want to rip.
