Umm I know for a while (bout the time of HT + before) Dave wasn't with LP, as he left to finish college. But did they hire a new bass player in his absence? Coz I've seen photos, and I could identify all of them, but in these photos theres a member that were some sort of hat or beenie, is that Dave "Phoenix"? Also, why doesnt Chaz play gutair more often? Ive only seen him do it once - Its going down(live) on the LPJZ collision course.
When Dave left to tour with 'Snax' aka 'Tasty Snax' the band hired Scott Koziol as their bassist. He can be briefly seen in the 'One Step Closer' video and toured with them in 2000. I have a bootleg video from 2000 in NY and Scott is playing with them.
You better thank me for recording that show Neil. On topic, didn't they have another bassist besideds Scott. I know Brad wrote some of the bass lines but I'm trying to remember the other dude. I'll put here if I remember. Alright I have it. Neil your right about Scott being in One Step Closer but Kyle Christner toured with them. So the bassist for Linkin Park before Phoenix are Scott Koziol and Kyle Christner.
You recorded that? You must have done the 2001 one with Phoenix as well. Good work Well the same guy that's in the OSC video was in that 2000 NY concert with them. So I assumed he toured as well. It says in the HT booklet I believe. Ill check when I get home.
Wat r u talking about? 'Its going down' isnt on LPJZ collision course album and LP didnt do it with JZ, they did it with The Xecutioners.
omfg, can you read, i put it in brackets (live) - that must mean its on the DVD. "makes ****** noises to you, NUNG NUNG" I think its in special features or something
Dude, he is right so dont start like you're right because you're not. And i dont want this fucking conversation again. Know your facts well, and read it good instead of posting them like a spam-whore
Why did Dave leave to tour with Snax? Oh in the Orlando concert in 2000, they did not play that show with a bassist, I do not have video footage, but it sounds crummy and cant hear no bass.
Snax was his old band and they were doing a tour without a bassist and dave flet like he had too or something. LP werent that big back then so dave took time out to help his old friends out

*Ignores the childish people here* Phoenix was originally a guitar player for The Snax way back before LP got started, but he switched to bass pretty soon after. You can see him playing guitar on Frat Party in the part where Mike gives a tour of the tour bus studio. Phoenix is actually working on the guitar part to From the Inside, kinda cool to hear that snippet a couple years before Meteora. It says in the Meteora booklet that Phoenix came up with the guitar part to From the Inside, so he does play some guitar. Brad did most of the bass on Hybrid Theory. Ian Hornbeck did bass on 3 songs (Forgotten, Papercut, and A Place for My Head), and Scott Koziol did bass on One Step Closer. Scott was also in the One Step Closer video playing bass and played bass on tour with LP until early 2001 when Phoenix came back. Kyle Christner played bass on the Hybrid Theory EP, Phoenix left shortly before the EP was recorded and Kyle was brought in to record bass, and I believe he played live with the band some before they changed their name. Kyle went on to play bass in the band NoseDive actually, I dunno what happened to Ian or Scott. LP did have a bass player at all their concerts, I have Orlando too, you can hear the bass a little bit in the verses of Forgotten, it's a combination of the way the rip came out and probably the bass wasn't turned up very high, but it's there.
