Well, im new.... been a LP fan since '99, loved first time I heard them - One Step Closer on a music program. Yes there was a demo album called Hybrid Theory EP. There is an album called Splitting the DNA Bootleg(STDNABL)that contains all of HTEP, demo songs and live songs. Heres its contents. Disc 1- Technique(short intro version) High Voltage (original version) Step Up Carousel And One Part of Me Esaul(place for my head demo) Superxero(by myslef demo) Points of Authority (demo, little nicky/vertical limit versions) With You(demo) My December Papercut(live) Forgotten(live) Points of Authority(live) With You(live) Runaway(live) And One(live) In The End(live) Place for my Head(live) One step closer(live) Now I only downloaded Disc 1, why? As Disc 2 contains trash music from Chesters former band, Grey Haze, seriously, they can hardly be found on the net. Same with STDNABL. It is a rare collection of songs, your best bet is to get it through IRC(thats were I got my copy). Speaking of Grey Haze..... here are some FAQs Why did Chaz leave them? He was sick of being the only one writing lyrics, and the rest of the group taking credit. Yes, you could say there were problem in the band since Day 1. Is it true that And One was first preformed by Grey Haze? Yes, yes they did first preform And One. And as we all know And One is a great song, Chester realised it too. So he took the lyrics from And One to LP. But seeing that Chester did not write the music to the song, LP had to come up with new tunes for And One.... legall reasons, I read somewhere. It was Mike's idea to put that "bonus song" at the end of it. Waste of time if you ask me...... To wrap this up.... I think LP should have released And One, as it one of the most liked LP songs. Still keep in mind that this great song is only a demo! I do not think LP will release And One in the future, as most fans have heard it, and numskulls on MTV will probally accuse them of being to lazy to write new lyrics and tunes. Anyways, thanks for welcoming me to LPAssociation.com Btw, I will not be sending STDNABL to anyone, as I cannot be bortherd aye. It would take too long for me, and you as there are 20 tracks.... I do no have Winzip. -Paul
hi man.......but i heard from other people that Splitting the DNA was some sort of fake cd that contained songs from HTEP and Grey Daze not Grey Haze.......its so called unofficial stuff......but thats for others to decide really....so hi
LOL! I was searching LP on ebay and happend to find so many songs such as: papercut(hell version) one doh closer(homers version) my december(fast version) cure for the itch + porcelian (moby) faint/toxic If some1 can please tell me if these songs are real and worth downloading, that would be great. Also i found a whole lot of Grey Daze songs.... did LP preform these??
Splitting The DNA is an unofficial rip-off, made by selfish jackasses trying to profit off LP's fame. It's just Hybrid Theory EP tracks, Grey Daze songs, and live tracks from an Orlando concert. Not official. If you bought it thinking you were getting something meaningful, I laugh.
I always laugh when someone comes to the LPA to inform us with misinformation... 'Splitting The DNA' was a person who downloaded some demos and other tracks and thought that they's make some money on Ebay. It's nothing but fake. Unofficial and unliscensed. Secondly, Chester's old band's name was Gray Daze not Haze. Chester got along well with the members of Gray Daze, and that bit about them stealing all the fame is a lie. If Chester was getting screwed by them, why do you think he's still, to this day, good friends with Sean Dowdell from Gray Daze who now owns a Hollywood Tattoo parlour called "Club Tattoo" 'And One' had nothing to do with Gray Daze. It was the first song that Chester wrote with the band. It was original and was composed with Hybrid Theory, the band's name at the time.
Oh true, my bad. But it's still worth d/ling Anyways, in this forum that the first 300-500 members of LP got a copy of HTEP, those after just got a copy of the EP. Whats the diff? Just wondering - thanks
Hey, that's uncalled for! It may have looked like I came down hard on copter, but I wasn't angry at them, I was more angry about the information. I don't like it when people make fake albums and stuff, and when people start to believe they're real, it makes LP look cheap and petty So, copter I'm sorry for coming down so hard, and NEWS: NEWS / NEWS ARCHIVE / SITE UPDATES / TOUR NEWS & DATES BIOS: BAND / CHESTER / MIKE / BRAD / JOE /ROB / PHOENIX / MISC FACTS LYRICS/TABS: LYRICS / TABS ARTICLES: CONCERT REVIEWS / ALBUM & SINGLE REVIEWS / INTERVIEWS / MAGAZINE STORIES MEDIA: IMAGE GALLERIES / MP3 / VIDEOS DOWNLOADS: WALLPAPERS / RINGTONES / AVATAR/AIM ICONS COMMUNITY: FORUM / CHAT ROOM OTHER: QUOTES / HUMOR / NAME & SHAME / CONTACT US Logged in as: Neil ( Log Out ) My Controls | 0 new messages | View New Posts | My Assistant LP Association Forums»Linkin Park»Hybrid Theory EP»News on HTEP Help | Search | Members | Calendar Replying to News on HTEP Code Buttons Guided Mode Normal Mode FONT Arial Times Courier Impact Geneva Optima SIZE Small Large Largest COLOR Blue Red Purple Orange Yellow Gray Green Close all Tags Open Tags: Enter your Post Clickable Smilies Show All (Check Message Length) Hey, that's uncalled for. Yeah, thats what i heared about that stupid splitting the DNA bootleg. Its just a compilation of Live songs, demos, and grey daze material. plus, the album cover is just lame...
there are two version of the hybrid theory ep: the original: was released way back, and has a little discription of what the pictures of the babies depict. also it has a different layout in the centre pages - there is a picture of the inside pages on LPA somewhere in anther topic. the re-issue: was released for members of the LPU1.0 and is slightly different to the original. this one doesnt have the little discription like the first one has of the babies, and the inside pages are different. these pages say a short thankyou to the fans.
Faint/Toxic was by a group that remixes LP called Xero Focus. That song in particular sucks They have some really good remixes though, PM me if you want the link to their site. Also, Splitting the DNA is pretty darn easy to find on P2P. Chestersings.tk just took it off, but it was up for a while to download it. papercut(hell version) - Sucky version of Papercut, just more echo and stuff. one doh closer(homers version) - One Step Closer with random Homer quotes thrown in. my december(fast version) - Exactly what it is. My December sped up. Doesn't sound half bad, but the original is better. cure for the itch + porcelian (moby) - Never heard it.
Actually, Agent (the guy that does Xero Focus) made Jigga What/Faint/Toxic, which is kinda better than the other one that's just Faint/Toxic, but yeah Britney's voice with LP is scary...lol. I think the original Faint/Toxic was another mashup made by a radio station DJ like the first LP/JZ mashups of 99 Problems/One Step Closer and Don't Stay/99 problems. Papercut (Hell version) is just a basic fan remix with some effects thrown on the song. One D'oh! Closer is another fan mix, and a funny one I might add. My December (Fast Version) a.k.a "My December (Silver Bullet Version)" is just My December like 1.5 times faster than the original. Cure for the Itch vs. Porcelain was the first mashup using LP I ever heard, it was made a few years ago by a fan who more or less took Cure for the Itch and put some samples of Moby's Porcelain in it, it's not bad. But all of those are unoffical remixes. There's several of them on Splitting the DNA/Under Attack/Wonderful System/any other bootleg compilation of LP stuff. There's a few tracks on those that aren't even LP too, so I'd be wary of getting them unless you want a bunch of LP's harder to find tracks on a CD. But most of them are easy to find on the net nowadays.
i've got some lp rare things compilation too,and it's got some gray daze, old lp demos and stuff from the ep,and it's called Under Attack.the idiot who made it put some non-lp songs(a Reason,i just want your company )as theirs.i mean'that is agood way to get rare lp songs ripped of their singles or anything else but thats just not ok for the band itself.
Well those unofficial albums can be cool to if you don't have enough time to download rare LP songs on the net or if you're on dial up. (like me)
