Hey...I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, or could suggest a fix for it. My system has a problem running Firefox, where the browser freezes upon any of the following occuring:

-Opening certain webpages, such as Hotmail, or Airwhiners.Net (a forum that I frequent...for some reason, it causes this problem to surface)
-Posting a message on a forum (such as this one - - the problem occurs when the Post button is pressed...the button 'presses' in, and the browser freezes for a few minutes, then unfreezes and all is fine until the browser is closed)
    - Pressing any other 'button' on a webpage
    - Pressing a quick link at the top of the browser

All of these freezes are not 'permanent', i.e., the browser eventually unfreezes, and subsequent actions from the above list don't produce the problem again, until Firefox is closed. After this, restarting Firefox produces the same problem again, and once again it clears after the first occurance. It's really annoying and a big waste of time, and I can't seem to fix the problem...uninstalling Firefox, running Ad-Aware and Spybot, etc...

    Can anyone help?

What speed internet do you have?

    Does IE do the same?

Maybe a fragmented disk. When was the last time you cleaned your temp internet files/cookies/cache.

Better yet when was the last time you reformatted?

You might wanna try out some Firefox builds which might have the problem fixed. If you want a link to it, just pm or im me. It's bascially different firefox builds that have minor fixes in them, until they finally reach their goal.

...That has nothing to do with Firefox...

Go to getfirefox.com, and redownload Firefox. Your install is just a dud probably or something.

No, but it may have to do with the hard drive being slow and trying to read cache for the web sites. They already said that they re-installed and it's still a problem.
