http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4247667.stm Wow, definately something I wasn't expecting. What do you guys think of this? Smoking starting to be banned in public places in the 'land of cigars' aka, Cuba. I think it might make a dent in the Cuban cigar market as people will start stopping to smoke, either that or just lots of people are going to be disregarding the ban and smoking anyways. That life expectancy is short, don't you think? Wow.
Smoking's Gay! Why would u even start, It's even worst to start if ur in any sports like me(hockey)!!
... now that that warning has been handed out could we get back on topic? <_< What's most interesting about this article is that the ban is in Cuba, the country where cigars are extremely popular.
The one thing I cannot wrap my head around is the fact that people smoke in the first place. It's so moronic.
Man I really hope this becomes a national trend in the US. It's starting to happen, many resteraunts are becoming totally non-smoking. Its really asinine that it hasn't been banned publically already. I don't understand why it should be allowed for someone to poison others with their habit. If they want to kill themselves, they can do it in their own homes. It would be so nice not to have to smell cigarettes everywhere I go... Though Virginia will be like one of the last states to ever take such an initiative. :wth:
yeah smoking is pretty nasty. thats one thing i just cant stand. and as for the ban of smoking in cuba...that isnt going to work. lol when you can practically go out back and grab a tobacco leave...i doubt the government will really be able to enforce this new ban.
smokeing.... if people want some smokes thats exactly sefl death go ahead, just do it alone, 10 meters away from humanity smokeing is just plain stupid, its soo useless, wonder how it got started the ban is going to be pretty dang hard to enfore...
I'm glad they are starting to impose laws on smoking. There is absolutely no point to smoking. "Hey look at me! I inhail dangerous substances just to kill myself, I'm so cool!"
I dont think this is the only good thing Fidel Castro has ever done. But you know you could look at it another way . May be the ban on smoking in public is so that there is no second hand inhalation of smoke - you know so that people know its wrong to smoke and still being democratic you can smoke in private . Public smoking is banned in a lot of other countries too. And dont call smoking moronic . It can give you an incredible high , the same kind of high that speed (like in car or bike) , or a fall or anything that gives you an adrenelin rush . Im not supporting it - its just dumb to make outright stements like it makes you sound like you are just out of church.

I defy you to name another one. His savagery and his brutality will precisely be the dominant factor in this ban. Besides, I think rich Cuban people (Castro and friends, turists) will keep on smoking. Believe me, smoke in Cuba won't be seen again until the diabolic communist regime dies (in fact, I'm starting to think free Cubans will preserve this ban). Smoke gives you an incredible high cancer, by the way. And if by smoking in private you mean in your house, this would technically allow addicted mothers to smoke while their children (and fetuses) get sick, just to give an example.
