Looking Forward To Yesterday

I don't have much to look forward to every day,
except for that smile on your face.
Each time that you glance my way,
I'm taken far away from this place
to a place where I can just be myself...
to a place where I can express how I've felt
for the past two years.
Sometimes, I might not sound so sincere,
but every time that I look at you,
I hope that you can feel it, too.
These feelings I hold inside aren't empty
but they do make me feel like I can't be
all the things you're looking for,
just because I can't bring myself before
you to greet you with a hello and a smile.
I promise to you that I'd be worth your while
if you give me a chance
to share with you in this dance
that could bring us together for all of time
in a place where I can say you're mine.
