The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. (One of my all time favorites.)
I Am the Cheese by Robert Cormier.

You can probably tell by now that I don't like to read 1000 page books that are written in 8 point font.

    Me too.

Only I read it last year in seventh grade. Meh, I'm in Honors classes. [/b][/quote]
I'm doing well...I guess, if you consider being in the "Emotional Support" program...oh well, it rocks! I got a contract basically stating that if I need to, I can use my notes to take a test! It sucks because it basically considers me as special...but out of the rest of the class, i'm the most "normal" out of them *gulp*

Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It was pretty awesome when I read it.. it's about a boy that is growing up. You really have to read it to understand it.. it'll make you laugh, make you cry, and really make you think. I suggest everyone read it.

    Main Entry: alac·ri·ty
    Pronunciation: &-'la-kr&-tE
    Function: noun
Etymology: Latin alacritas, from alacr-, alacer lively, eager
: promptness in response : cheerful readiness <accepted the invitation with alacrity>
    - alac·ri·tous /-kr&-t&s/ adjective

I learned that reading Tom Sawyer.

To anyone who enjoys a good fantasy book but wants something different i would recommend:

The Sovereign Stone Trilogy by Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman (who also wrote dragonlance)

The first book in this series is focused on the "villans" or the "evil" characters, it makes for quite an interesting and refreshing read. The first book The Well Of Darkness follows the lives of two boys, a prince and his whipping boy (the boy that gets the prince's punishment for him as he must not be touched, he is too sacred) from when they first meet as young boys till they are young adults. It also tracks the loss of innocence as you see the boys become increasingly "evil" and thirsty for power.

The second and third books focus on both the heros and the villans of the story.

    I suggest the books:
    1) The Catcher in the Rye by J.D.Salinger
    2) Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie
    3) The Wish List by Eoin Colfer
    AND
anything and everything ever written by J.K.Rowling and J.R.R.Tolkein!

    Okay, okay, got another one!

"White Oleander" by Janet Fitch. Adult content, so this one isn't a good bedtime story for the kiddies.
