Figure 09 is one of my favorites on the album, and I was listening through it and they say "Part Of Me" a lot during the chorus. I'm sure they would of called of Part Of Me if they didn't already have a song named by that, which is probably how Figure 09 came into the picture.

    but Y call it "Figure.09"?
    that's the Question...

the word figure also has a musical definition attached to it, something bout the melody, i don't remember, learnt it a long time ago

and why not .09? better than .08 or .07

    more edgy i guess?

Technically "Figure 8" but close enough.

LP uses working titles for all of their songs. Just like "Papercut" and "Points Of Authority." LP could've just as easily called "Papercut" "Paranoid" and "Points Of Authority" "Forfeit" or something.

"Figure.09" is apparently a track that never lost it's working title. Jees, people, think before you start spreading rumors.

'Faint' was also a song that never lost its working title.

^just a little bit of "trivia" for you ;)

yeah it is interesting how quite a few of their song's titles aren't even mentioned in the lyrics. it makes you wonder how they got those titles in the first place.

The first title of a song, the non-permanent one (the one used in demos more often).
Papercut may have had e.g. the word "papercut" in its chorus in the beginning, and then this chorus was changed, though the title din't change... :chemist:

    ah, thanks
i really don't think they are workin' titles though

if linkin park rewrote somewhere i belong's chorus 40 times, then...wouldn't the words 'somewhere i belong' be gone by now?

i think it's just a creative thing they got goin' there, not to restrict the songs

like when u see a title of a song before u hear it u'd be expectin' this n' that in the lyrics, kinda puttin' a fence around ppl's mind

and i think LP uses the title to sum up what the song is about instead, sometimes part of the chorus fits, sometimes it doesn't, i guess.

Well it could have originally been called Figure but since it landed in spot 8 they put .09 at the end...... Just a thought.

They're not ALL working titles....only the ones that seemingly have nothing to do with the song....also its not just a word related to the "first version" of a demo as someone ....I believe one of the band members said they used something like "Shoelace" (maybe Shoe? Anyway that doesnt matter :p lol...) as a working title once.... (In an old LP.com chat i think....)
