Okay, first of all, this new is SO.FUCKING.OLD. Secondly, I don't see why you guys are hating Avril over this. She had no say in the project and personally, she doesn't want the movie to be made either.
More info: Click "Even though she has a secret crush on him, a teenage girl turns down the advances of a skateboarding boy because her snobby friends don't like him. Years later, she feels like a big ol' doofus when she finds that he's become a popular rock star."
The poll on that page is genius. I'd give it -1 stars. Meaning if I was forced to watch it this movie on a plane I'd take my chances with a parachute.
Avril's already extremely popular. She's all over the radios and television, especially where me and you live, in Canada. Don't like it? Don't see it. I think Avril Lavigne is a talented artist, and so do many other people here, Otoorva, so I wouldn't be so quick to judge. Especially because of the fact you're barely ever here.
I think she's talented too...Sk8er Boi just happens to be the worst song she's ever put out! Songs like Nobody's Home (which happens to be written by Ben Moody) and Losing Grip are very catchy to listen to, and they're alright! Trust me, she's better than some of the crap that's out there today (Ashlee Simpson, Hillary Duff, Lindsey Lohan)
No offense to you but please do yourself a favor and grow up. I know you hate Avril Lavigne because "she'z a posurrrr!" but your hardly punk yourself. I'm so sick of people acting like they're 'so punk' just because they shop at alternative stores and listen to The Used and Good Charlotte, when real punk died out over 20 years ago. This new shit aint punk, so dont call Avril Lavigne a poser when you're just as much of a poser as she is. Nobody nowadays is "punk" and at least Avril Lavigne can sing and doesn't lipsynch. I cant say that about the other so called "rock" artists out there (Lohan, Simpson etc.)
Good point. And I don't think everyone here hates her.
I just have to put in my two cents here. Stop the hate, spread the love. I don't particularly care for Ms. Lavigne myself, but have noticed a significant improvement in her music. I have to say that her second album is better than her first--maybe because when I heard it, I was reminded slightly of the Cranberries, and IMHO, the Cranberries freaking rock. So I doubt I'll see this movie, but it's mostly because it doesn't look at all like the kind of movie I'd enjoy. However, I'll be sure to recommend it to my sister.
Hell has come to Earth. What were they thinking? Looking at the desc Mark posted, pretty lame storyline. Stick with the music video.
I think its pretty safe to say that it WILL be. Whoever is directing this needs to face a horrible end.

And well, you gotta admit, she's a pretty talented singer. She's done so well for her age. The whole 'don't give a shit' attitude was one of the most copied looks in like... ever. So what if there's a movie loosely based on her song? She didn't create the whole, so-called future fiasco film herself. Of course to some it might cause a chain reaction of shittiness, but for the whole, who cares? C'mon she's investing in the big bucks? Who wouldn't? See the trailers, forget about it. You've got a clicker, turn off the damn TV. Sounds simple enough. Honestly, if it's the next Gigli, you won't hear about it much... well as much as Ben Affleck's career.
People, if you dont like it dont watch it and avoid it. I dont like Avril at all and everytime i hear her music or see her on tv i just change the channel or station. No ones pointing a gun to your head saying "Love Avril or DIE!!" So just chill out about it.

It was rather fun reading all those comments XDD I'm going to wait to see the trailer before I make any comments on what I think of the movie. If the trailers portray the movie as one of the films you DON'T want to see over the summer vacation, then I won't watch it or wait till it comes out on video where I can pay less money, turn it off if I want and watch something else, or at least be in the comfort of my own home.
I don't really like Avril Lavigne, but her voice is good, I like the song "Nobody's Home" and her video clips are good but that's it really. I wouldn't like a movie based on it... @ Burningsoul: GROUP HUG :hugz:
