That guy is a frickin moron. I have bought TWO Beastie Boys CDs from Walmart, both of which were uncensored and contained curses. One of them even contained frequent references to drugs. Can we said overprotective idiotic parents? Yes we can.
Oh boo hoo my music has curse words -- I can't let my children discover these words because surely they don't hear and pick up on them elsewhere!
$74,500 is alot of cash to be asking for, especially for selling a CD with a dirty word on it. Wal-Mart carries R-Rated movies, which show much more than a simple F word. It really comes down to the parents trust in the kids, do the parents trust their kids not to repeat these foul obscenities? If they did, then there would be no problem with their child hearing music with foul language. The parents should take responsibility, by either take the disc back or educating their kids on why it's not right to use these words. Of course this is just what I think a rational parent would/should do. I don't think asking for $74,500 is rational. EDIT: This is just my view on this thing, since I didn't comment in the original posting. Just didn't want people to seem like I'm spouting random shit.
hahaha...that's ridiculous... But yeah. I pretty much agree with Casey. $74,000 for the word "fuck"? That's silly. Plus, unless this girl is very sheltered, she has heard the word (and probably worse) many times before.
Wow, just wow. If I had a choice, I would never shop at WalMart again because they suck as a company, but they're the only store in my town I hate giving them my money though.
I bought a Puddle of Mudd CD from Wal-Mart with no PA sticker on it and it said fuck a lot. People are morons
parents like these should think more rationally. this is ridiculous. trying to protect your children from "bad words" is pointless. the more you restrict something from children or people in general, the more they are going to do it in the future, if not now.
My mother makes me eat chilli (the vegetable, the red colored long thing, not the kind that comes in a bowl) whenever I swear so that it burns my mouth and serves as a reminder (she made me eat one for calling my brother an ass once), but I still cuss like hell anyway in school. And online.
Ha. There are two 'fuck's in Korn's original, and it's only more than once because it's in the chorus. The conservativeness of parents needs to improve. I repeat, ha.
I agree...I can't really swear in my house (although we do sometimes) cause my parents have a fit...who did create the swear word anyway? Anyways, I just follow my own motto! "A swear word not said at home equals 50 at school" Cause thats what I do anyways...and on here!
lolomgamysaidfuck If they win this lawsuit, I'm never buying anything from Wal-mart again...not that I buy much from them, anyway. It is the responsibility of the parent to listen to a recording to determine if it is suitable enough for their child to listen to if the parent feels the child isn't old enough. So now we have an irresponsible parent filing a lawsuit because s/he was too much of a jackass to listen to it first.
They deserve to be sued if they don't carry any CDs with the PA sticker. Although, parents (including mine) are stupid not to allow their kids to buy albums with swears in the lyrics.
