    No they haven't. They've always owned TNN, MTV, etc. It wasn't only until recently that they got VH1, because before that I know they've never done split red carpet pre show garbage.

    Oh yeah, they own Nick too. Not that it matters, but yeah. That would explain why they showed a Lindsay Lohan video on fucking NOGGIN once.

    MTV asked Jay-Z who he wanted to work with, he said Linkin Park, they brought them together. MTV only wanted a concert (which they got), but LP and Jay-Z decided to make an album, so they did a behind-the-scenes footage part of it too. The album was solely produced by Mike Shinoda, MTV just showed the concert.
