The only thing I've heard is that they're working with David Botrill (who did records for Tool and Godsmack)

Ten bucks says that their next album has songs that all sound the same (Anyone remember So Far Away and Zoe Jane? What a joke.)

I wonder if they can get any sadder or unhappy with each album. '14 Shades...' was a huge letdown.

No, the album was disappointing! Except for "Price to Play" and "Fray"...the rest was just crap! I'm still waiting for the day they actually go back to the "Dysfunction" days...but the chances of that are less than Angelina Jolie coming to my door!

Heheh.. Chill out a bit why don't you. If Rohan liked the album and thought it was great, there's no need to tell her it was crap.

Anyway, I'm no fan of Staind, but I've heard most of their singles on the radio and they arn't that bad. I don't really care if they release a new album anytime soon.

I never was a big fan of Staind, but I enjoyed 14 Shades Of Grey. It was an all right album for me. Hopefully they go heavier with old stuff and stop making it The Aaron Lewis Experiment.

I've just downloaded and listened to '14SOG' for the first time through and I think it's pretty good, I love Zoe Jane.
If their new album sounds anything like this I will be buying it :)

14 Shades of Grey is a good album IMO. Obviously the three previous were better, but 14SOG is still a good album. Yeah some tracks weren't as good as others, but i still liked it. Anyway, i'm looking forward to their next album.

14 Shades of Grey, IMO, was one of the worst rock albums of 2003. It was such a letdown for me, everyone of the songs on the CD was boring and didn't do anything for me. So Far Away makes me want to tear off my ears and eat them, its that damn boring.

Hopefully they take this next CD in a heavier direction...because their heavy songs are alright.

One thing about Staind, is that every album is different, and personally, whether it's a dissappointment or a triumph, I would rather have them keep evolving then churning out the same thing over and over again.

Break The Cycle was their best effort though IMO...

You just summed up what I feel for any band.

    Congratulations.

I hope it's just like Break The Cycle. That's one of my favorite CDs.

I can probably ask Aaron Lewis questions about the album if I see him. He lives about a half hour/hour from where I live and sometimes comes into the store where I work. Even though I've never seen him, my co worker who's a staind fan, sees him sometimes at our Price Chopper and the store where we work.

staind is corny sometimes, hell most of the time, but their melodies are good. again, like proach, the lyrics are the same old crap. proach is all really terrible, and staind's lyrics are all whiny.

Never was a fan of Staind. They're ok and everything but I don't really care whether they make a new album or not.

i love Staind. Break The Cycle was a gem but 14 shades was so boring but i still liked a few songs. I like the powerful verses not the slow ones.

LOL well said. I really liked Break the Cycle, Can't beleive is a wicked song. I didn't mind 14 Shades of Grey but i'd ahve to say dysfunction was alot better.

You obviously have not been paying attention to the lyrics or album titles from the first cd to their latest. Going from tormented/dysfunction where on the beggining of one of them he is loading a shotgun ready to shoot himself, to 14 shades of grey where he talks about issues other than his depression, like his baby girl zoe jane, or about the music industry which I think is what price to play/how about you are touching on. Now that he isn't as depressed, weining himself off drugs, and has a family, his songs arent as angry, this happens with almost every band (however linkin park has managed to stray from that course :) ). The difference is, Staind can make GREAT melodic rock songs, unlike other sh*thole radio bands like 3 days grace who play a chord or two like any 14 year old can do, and make songs you get tired of after a few listens. I personally was dissappointed when I first heard 14 Shades of Grey, but that was because I was expecting them to still be hard, but after really listening to the songs, I ended up loving it just as much as Break the Cycle. My personal favorites are Fray, yesterday, How about you, and zoe jane.
