Billboard.com finally got around to posting last Thursday's chart positions, so here they are: <div align=center> Billboard Top 200 Albums Charts 'Meteora' - #83 (Last Week - #77) Billboard Modern Rock Charts "Breaking The Habit" - #16 (Last Week - #14) Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts "Breaking The Habit" - Off Charts (Last Week - #20) Billboard Hot 100 Singles Charts "Breaking The Habit" - #68 (Last Week - #62) "Numb/Encore" - #82 (Last Week - #86) Billboard Hot Digital Tracks "Numb/Encore" - #1 (Last Week - #1)</div> By now, all of us chart-watchers should be able to easily predict the plight of Linkin Park's sophomore album 'Meteora' and it's last single "Breaking the Habit" on the Billboard charts. For those of you who don't know the charts well, 'Meteora' and "Breaking The Habit" are continuously slipping down the charts every week. 'Meteora' fell six spots to #83 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums charts, while "Breaking The Habit" fell two spots on the Modern Rock tallies, six spots on the Hot 100 tallies, and completely vanished from the Mainstream Rock list. The silver lining of this week is how well "Numb/Encore", the first single from Linkin Park and Jay-Z's upcoming Mash-ups album 'Collision Course', is doing. The single stayed atop the Hot Digital charts for a second week in a row, while it also jumped to #82 on the Hot 100.
w00t, i'm guessing numb/encore will stay up on the charts as #1 for 1-2 months. haha, then lying from you/dirt off your shoulder might be played and even more LP/ Jay-z fans.
Can't wait till next week. Collision Couse is gonna sell big. But ya, im surprised Meteora is even in the top 100. It gotta reach 5 Million soon.
The charts for 'Collision Course' won't come out until two thurdays ater it's released. December 9th.
I know, I know!! Someone's going to go to the store and buy the thing, then return the CD, keeping the DVD. They'd literally sell 1/2 of a copy. B)
Why's that? Anyone wanna have a guess at first week sales for CC? I say 250,000 units/ [/b][/quote] That's the way the charts work. How are they suppsoed to have first week totals if they release it the Thursday after the album is released? That's only 2 days. Thus the Thursday after that, 9 days later, Dec 9th.
Breaking The Habit will retire next week of the HOt 100. And I think that COLLISION COURSE will debut on the top 5, with 300.000 copies or more.
