For those who are into basketball, who saw the pistons vs pacers game? That was unreal, ron artest, stephen jackson and jermaine o' neal kicked some ass. ben wallace shouldnt have thrown started anything, i understand its a rivalry, but still i bet he ben regrets it now. as for the fans, who do those people think they are. basketball players are human, if you keep pushing someone enough it doesnt matter who, the person is gonna snap. i understand they are supposed to be professional, but i really dont see how it is the players fault in this case. the players were provoked and had objects thrown at them. jermaine knocked the crap out of one fan, it was pretty funny how he fell. it was intense though. thats a once in a lifetime moment. i feel embarrassed as a fan of basketball to be put in the same bunch as the fans of detroit who were involved. for some reason it bothered me alot more than it should have.
^ Link doesnt work :/ Wish i could've seen it.. Wasnt it televized on NBALP or something like that? well , it looks like those players who were involved in the fight were suspended indefinately.. Really sucks for the pistons' and pacer's season.
i was bored and decided to turn on the t.v. and watch the game, and in a couple of minitues into it i saw a player push another one and then all hell broke loose. Now a days it seems nothing is ever the same anymore, since when did basket ball turn into boxing :crashed:
I think the world has gone insane or something. There was a big-ass brawl at a College Football game a few days ago as well. I saw it on NBC last night.
Ron Artest and Jermaine O'Neal are asses. They're professionals, they should go back to their multi-million dollar mansions and sulk.
This whole thing started because Ron Artest decided to foul Ben Wallace so Wallace pushed Artest and then Artest went back over to the score thing and a fan threw something at him and somehow to him, that justified going into the stands and beating the hell out of random people. Artest should be kicked out of the damn NBA after all the shit he's done, He was suspended twice last year and now the rest of the season this year.
The worst thing is that they still get payed millions of dollars for being idiots. Artest got on the press bench and put his hands on the back of his head like the cocky moron he is. I would've thrown something at him to bring him back into reality.

It's bullshit for him to just rush into the stands and start punching people. People that didn't even have anything to do with the object that was thrown at him.
Artest was treated unfairly being suspended for the rest of the season, if someone threw a cup of beer or whatever it was, would you just sit there and let some stupid drunks laugh and get away with that, i would have done the same thing as artest. all detroit fans are dirty for the way they treated the whole pacer team that night. I wish more fans would have gotten owned by jermaine o'neal like that fat ass guy that came on the court where he shouldn't have been...
So if a fan threw something at you, you'd run into the stands and randomly punch people? People that had nothing to do with the thrown object? Sounds Reasonable.
Artest is getting suspended for the whole season without being paid. Jermaine O' Neal is getting a 30 game suspension. Ben Wallace is only getting 6 games.
While most of us would problem "pwn" that person who threw the beer what those players did was wrong. We are "normal" people. Celebs and athletes aren't. That can't just go around punching people who make them mad. If you're a star and some guy throws a cup of beer on you because his wife loves you more than him are you going to wail on him and anyone else who steps up? If you say yes, you're a totally dick and probably need anger management. Now if some kid at lunch throws a grape soda on my white shirt on purpose, yes, I'm knocking him out. But a 5 day suspension can't compare to a whole season and not having the millions you're supposed to make that year. Plus I'm not a public figure. We can do that. Celebs, athletes, politicians and general public figures cannot do that.
I'm quite sure he didn't. I read an article that had part of an interview with one of the guys Artest hit and he said "He just came up here and started hitting me in the face and asking me if i was the one that threw it and I kept telling him no man, it wasn't me but he kept hitting me"
New from EA Sports in 2005: NBA BRAWL 2K5 - Throw chairs, sucker punch and destroy fans who taunt you in this new sports sim from EA Sports. Making an ass out of yourself on ESPN has never been so fun!

If someone threw something at you and taunted you, you said you would beat there ass, Artest after being pushed by ben wallace (wallace over reacted on that foul, it was a cheap shot, but not even a hard shot. If it was a hard hit the refs would have called flagrant) did what players are told to do, just get away from the conflict. Given he did lay down on the table, but thats better than making things worse. What he did was the right thing, cocky or not if the fan didnt throw anything the whole issue wouldve calmed down in 5 minutes or so. But no, fans had to cross the line. Artest already being very emotional was trying to calm down, but then after the fan threw a cup of beer and added to the fire and that was it. The fans got what they deserve.
